Recent national headlines highlighted a troubling reality in American education: researchers from Stanford, Harvard, and Dartmouth found that reading scores declined in 83% of U.S. school districts over the past decade, and Grade 8 reading achievement nationally is now at its lowest level since 1990.
Yet while academic performance declined nationally and many local schools lost ground relative to state averages, CBA students continued to widen their margin above the New York State average in English Language Arts.
Still, numbers alone cannot explain academic excellence.
These results reflect the quiet, faithful work of students, teachers, families, and a community committed to forming young people of faith, integrity, perseverance, and service.
