We're thrilled to announce that Assistant Professor Jess Myers has been awarded the prestigious Rome Prize in Architecture by the American Academy in Rome—one of the highest honors in the field.

Selected through a highly competitive national process, Myers is among just 31 artists and scholars recognized this year across disciplines in the arts and humanities. As part of the 2026–27 fellowship, she’ll spend time in Rome advancing her project, “OverPast: Disruptive Listening in Urban Pasts and Presents,” which explores urban change and infrastructure through a comparative lens between Syracuse and Rome.

Congratulations to Haonan (Eric) Ma '27 (B.Arch) and Chelsea Zhang '27 (B.Arch) who have been named as 2026-27 Remembrance Scholars. During his fellowship, Nascimento is developing a project titled “Leading Across Generations” that will explore how intergenerational differences influence communication, leadership and collaboration.
