School of Architecture student Martha Casey ’27 (B.Arch) spent her summer interning with ZGF Architects in Portland, Oregon, where she collaborated with passionate designers, developed a conceptual museum interior project and saw firsthand how skills learned in the studio translate to professional practice.

This summer, Syracuse Architecture students helped faculty member Ekin Erar bring 10⁶ (Ten to the Power of Six) to life at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in Kentucky. From fabrication to installation, students gained real-world experience creating an immersive pavilion that transforms an abstract concept into a physical experience. 🌿

As part of their 2026 grant cycle funding ideas to expand architecture and design, the Chicago-based Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts recently announced 54 new grants, totaling $506,000, to individuals, including awards to School of Architecture faculty member Lori A. Brown, FAIA, and to Drawing Architecture Studio (DAS), the collaborative practice led by School of Architecture faculty members Li Han and Hu Yan in partnership with Zhang Xintong.
