Good afternoon HW Families! Happy Flag Day! This is a reminder that our K-3 kiddos will be celebrating Flag Day tomorrow and our K-3 families are welcome to join us outside by the flag pole!

Also, we will have some different law enforcement agencies with us to help us celebrate, so please allow them to park in our bus lane. Alternate parking can be found on side streets and in our side parking lot. Thanks so much!

It’s almost that time! Our fourth and last marking period award ceremonies are approaching and they are sure to be filled with student achievements!

Please save the date/s and join us for our last marking period award ceremonies of the 2025-2026 school year. Your child should be bringing home an invitation for their ceremony next week if they are receiving an award.

Attention families: our student field days are this week! K-5th grade students will have their field day on Thursday June 11 and 6-8th graders will have their field day on Friday June 12.

Please remind your student(s) to dress appropriately for field days (sneakers, etc.).

Our field days are for STUDENTS ONLY, during the school day. They had to follow our SOAR expectations in their special area classes in order to attend and so many have earned this privilege.

We will post pictures for families to enjoy afterwards. Our specials area team does an amazing job preparing for this every year, and the kids are so excited!

HW Smith hosted this year’s SyraFuse Showcase last week, and these amazing 6th graders presented their feedback and perspectives on the learning taking place in their classroom because their teachers took a leap and became Fuse Fellows! Way to go everyone! We couldn’t be prouder to work with teachers AND students who value and love learning. 💙💛

It’s that time 8th grade families!

Our 8th grade end of the year award ceremony will be on Wednesday June 24th at 8:30 AM in the HW Smoth auditorium. Please be here by 8:15, park on side streets, and sign your student out before you come up to the auditorium if you plan on taking them with you after the ceremony. We will call their names and let them know to get their belonging and meet you at the main office after the ceremony ends.

We are looking forward to celebrating all of their achievements with you on the 24th! See you then!

The time is almost here! Our Kindergarten moving up ceremony will be held on Monday June 22, 2026 at 8:30 AM in the HW Smith auditorium.

Please park on sides streets. We can’t wait to see you and celebrate your babies and all of their hard work together! 💙💛
