DAY OF SILENCE FOR STUDENTS IS APRIL 20TH!!!
This year, we (QuERI & the SU LGBT Resource Center) will be experimenting with a new format and we invite you join us for the FRIDAY, APRIL 20TH, Breaking the Silence Rally and Pizza Party.
• As in previous years, the rally will be held in the SU Quad. We will gather on the steps of Carnegie building – adjacent to Hendricks Chapel - at 4 pm.
• Students ...who wish to come early to “Chalk the Quad” or make signs and posters for the rally can meet at 3:15 at the LGBT Resource Center (750 Ostrom Avenue).
• After the rally, we will proceed to room 107 in Huntington Hall where there will be a pizza party and arts activities addressing the new Dignity for All Students Act (which goes into effect in July) and brainstorming student action to improve their school climates.
• The event will be over at 6:30 pm.

Tell Gov. Cuomo: Don't lift New York's fracking ban! 07/01/2011

Hydrofracking is a direct threat to our useable water. Their are over 100 chemicals in water forced into the ground to 'fracture' shale in order to extract natural gas from it. The fluid stays in the ground and in underground waterways that feed our streams, lakes and wells. people near these sites have been able to turn on their faucets, light a match and watch the water catch fire...please let our state governmen

Tell Gov. Cuomo: Don't lift New York's fracking ban! Governor Cuomo's Department of Environmental Conservation has recommended ending New York state's ban on horizontal fracking, a dangerous method of oil and gas drilling. The ban expires on Friday. Tell Gov. Cuomo to maintain the ban, and protect New York's water from dangerous fracking.
