Students got a chance to learn about the planet and our place in it from long-time friend of the ELI Karin Botto this Earth Day! ELI students gathered at SU’s Outdoor Learning Center to learn from Karin who holds an EdD and whose research revolves around the environment.

Students and staff learned about forest bathing and hot to try it for themselves! This was a great mindfulness tool for our students, a great way to connect with nature, and an exciting way to learn and use English in the real world! Thank you to everyone who made this event possible- especially Karin, Scott from the Barnes Center, and our instructor Tara! 🤗🍊🌎🌱🌳

Today, our Oral 1 superstars presented about festivals celebrated in their home countries of Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, Taiwan 🇹🇼, and Paraguay 🇵🇾!

Kazakhstan 🇰🇿: Nauryz is a festival of Spring and Renewal celebrated with community every year throughout the country.

Taiwan 🇹🇼: Taiwan Yanshui Beehive Fireworks Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year in Tainan.

Paraguay 🇵🇾: Festival Nacional del Ñanduti is considered a National Heritage of Crafts and Folklore celebrating the colorful web-like patters of Ñanduti.
