SWPF is a 36-contact hour program that is aimed at training social work supervisors in a time of enormous change and uncertainty. Our skilled facilitators and community experts have trained supervisors in various roles from across the Central New York region and beyond. Social Work Practice Fellows (SWPF) is a premier tuition-based professional development program for MSW supervisors from community-based agencies. The educational model, which has been proven effective, calls for face-to-face interactive workshops taught by academic and practice-based experts utilizing brief didactic presentations, group learning activities, discussions of cases and supervision experiences, and the provision of extensive educational materials.

This year’s Practice Fellows Program will be conducted live, via Zoom. Each content area will be presented in 3 three-hour live sessions from October 2021 through March 2022.

Hello everyone! Another VIRTUAL CE announcement! We are bringing back Social Work Practice Fellows (SWPF) again! Register now and earn 36-contact hours over the course of two semesters online!

This program is limited to 25 participants. Participants selected must be MSW-level social workers who are supervising social service workers from diverse settings. Participants must attend all synchronous sessions.

Cost: $700

Time: 9am-11am on Fridays for each session

Dates:
10/9, 10/16 and 10/23/20 – Session one, Advancing skills in individual and group supervision

11/6, 11/13 and 11/20/20 – Session two, Teaching assessment and planning skills in work with individuals and families

1/8, 1/15 and 1/22/21 – Session three, Trauma-informed supervision through a social justice lens

2/5, 2/12 and 2/19/21 – Session four, Supervision to advance knowledge of health challenges impacting individuals and families across the life course

3/5, 3/12 and 3/19/21 – Session five, Supervision to advance knowledge of mental health and substance use challenges impacting individuals and families across the life course

4/2, 4/9 and 4/16/21 – Session six, Furthering supervisors’ capacity to address performance and organizational challenges

Hi everyone! We are back with a new VIRTUAL CE!
**Participants must have completed an approved EMDR Therapy Basic Training in order to attend with proof of completion*

EMDR Recent and Group Traumatic Protocol VIRTUAL CE
October 16 & 17, 2020 / 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (8:00 a.m. check-in)
Cost $129.00 for each day or $240.00 for both days
6 contact hours for one day or 12 contact hours for both days

Participant learning objectives: (R-TEP)
1. Describe how to obtain history using the R-TEP.
2. Define the term Resource Connection Envelope.
3. Name the steps in the "Four Elements Exercise".
4. Describe how to obtain the first resource elicited when using R-TEP.
5. Apply 2 preparation techniques during the practicum exercise.
6. Propose 2 methods for grounding dysregulated clients.
7. Illustrate sensitive application of the Assessment Phase in
R-TEP.
8. Distinguish traumatic event from traumatic episode.
9. Explain how to identify and process target fragments.
10. Differentiate EMDR vs. EMD processing.

Participant learning objectives: (G-TEP)
1. Describe 3 ways to utilize the G-TEP.
2. Name the logistical considerations for G-TEP administration.
3. What to do if someone cannot utilize/develop a safe place in the group.
4. Illustrate what information is shared among group members while going through the G-TEP.
5. Describe how to direct the participants' attention after each set of BLS.
6. Name 2 assessment tools & how to administer them
