The Couri Hatchery incubator is a student-centered, supportive co-working space and mentorship program that helps student ventures at any level, from idea through start-up, development and growth. Promoting and supporting business development among entrepreneurial students across the SU campus, the Couri Hatchery is named for John Couri '63 BA (A&S), co-founder of Duty Free International and presi
dent of the Couri Foundation. Focused on streamlining innovative, emerging student ventures, it provides a broad scope of services including on-campus office space and support, product realization and development services, and business consultation through community mentors and alumni entrepreneurs. It provides SU student business owners with real-world experience in business innovation and creation and research and development, while simulating interaction between student entrepreneurs and our faculty, students, administrators and staff. Businesses that have initiated within the Couri Hatchery include Dream Water, Golden Gear, Solstice Power, ThunderCakes, Funk 'n Waffles, Wholesale Jewelry Liquidators, Brand-Yourself.com and many others. There is no cost to join the Couri Hatchery. Companies involved in the Hatchery range from idea stage, to startups and growth-oriented businesses. Access to resident experts and local mentors to help with issues such as legal, accounting, operations, product development, marketing, HR and more are available to all Couri Hatchery participants.
