What a way to close out an incredible year! This week was filled with celebration, laughter, sunshine, and memories that will last long after the final bell rings.

Our students kicked off the festivities with School-Wide Field Days, where classes walked to Comfort Tyler Park for a day packed with fun. Students enjoyed field games, fruit kabobs, playground adventures, epic volleyball matches, and cooling off in the splash fountain. Back at school, the celebration continued with music from our DJ, picnic lunches with friends, and a sweet treat to top it all off—cotton candy!

Learning and sharing continued across the building as our 3rd grade students hosted their Family Engagement Event, proudly presenting expert projects on topics of their choice. From future scientists to historians and animal experts, our students showed just how much they have learned this year.

Our special classes celebrated with their own Water Day, enjoying splash pad fun, water activities, and homemade snow cones—a perfect way to welcome summer!

Meanwhile, our 4th grade students enjoyed their end-of-year trip to Marcellus Park, where they spent the day playing games, enjoying a cookout, and making memories together.

Our youngest learners welcomed families to their PreK Art Show, proudly displaying their creativity and talent as artists. The smiles on their faces said it all!

And finally, our talented 7th and 8th grade musicians took the stage at Lincoln Middle School for their end-of-year concert, showcasing the hard work and dedication they have put into their craft all year long.

As we close the chapter on another amazing school year, we look forward to celebrating some very special milestones in the days ahead:

🎓 Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony – June 16
🎓 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony – June 24
🎓 PreK Moving Up Ceremony – June 25

Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for making this year one filled with growth, joy, and unforgettable moments. Whether you joined us for a concert, volunteered at an event, supported learning at home, or simply cheered on our students, you helped make Syracuse Latin the special place it is.

As the school year winds down, our students are making the most of every opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate together!

Our 3rd grade students put their teamwork and leadership skills to the test during their end-of-year field trip to Ultimate Goal, where they worked together through challenges, encouraged one another, and showed what it means to be a great teammate.

Meanwhile, our 7th graders enjoyed a beautiful day at Green Lakes, spending time outdoors, sharing a cookout with friends, and appreciating nature right in our own community.

Back at Syracuse Latin, our 4th grade students welcomed families into the building for a hands-on STEM Family Engagement Event. Students and their grownups worked side-by-side to solve challenges, explore new ideas, and discover that some of the best learning happens when we learn together.

And to cap off a wonderful week, our talented 4th, 5th, and 6th grade musicians took the stage for their end-of-year Band, Orchestra, and Chorus Concert. From the first note to the final bow, our students showcased months of hard work, dedication, and growth. It was a fantastic performance and a wonderful celebration of the arts at Syracuse Latin!

Whether in the classroom, on the stage, or out in the community, our students continue to LIGHT the way through leadership, learning, and collaboration. We are so proud of all they have accomplished!

This week at Syracuse Latin was filled with celebration, connection, and community!

Our 8th grade students made memories that will last a lifetime as they celebrated their final year as Latin Legends at their 8th Grade Dance at Green Lakes. Dressed to impress and ready to have fun, our students danced the night away and enjoyed a special evening with friends as they begin counting down the final weeks of their middle school journey.

Meanwhile, learning came full circle for our 3rd graders as they wrapped up their crayfish science unit. To celebrate their learning, our 7th grade students joined them to share presentations about crayfish habitats, life cycles, and adaptations. It was wonderful to see older and younger students learning together and building connections across grade levels.

We also had the privilege of supporting some of the incredible caregivers in our school community by hosting a Caregiver Luncheon for families of students with complex medical needs. Families gathered to share a meal, connect with one another, and learn about resources available through local community partners. A special thank you to Bianchi's for generously donating the meal and helping make this event possible.

From celebrating milestones to sharing knowledge and supporting one another, this week reminded us that Syracuse Latin is more than a school-it's a community that learns, grows, and cares together.

This week at Syracuse Latin, we had so much to celebrate-but most importantly, we celebrated the incredible people who help our students LIGHT the way every single day: our amazing teachers and staff!

All week long, we talked about how our educators continue to raise the bar for students through their dedication, encouragement, and hard work-so this week, it was our turn to raise the bar for them! From special treats to games and celebrations throughout the week, we loved showing our appreciation for the people who make Syracuse Latin such a special place to learn and grow.

A huge shoutout goes to our wonderful families and the Friends of Syracuse Latin PTO, who helped make the week extra special by volunteering and providing delicious treats like a sandwich bar and coffee bar for staff. Your support and generosity mean so much to our school community!

And while we celebrated our staff, we also got to see the impact of their hard work in action. Our middle school students tackled their New York State Mathematics assessments with confidence and determination, while our elementary students celebrated their achievements during our 3rd Marking Period Awards Breakfast.

We also want to give a very special congratulations to one of our own, Ms. Davis, who was recognized as the CTE Staff Member of the Year! 🎉 We are so proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor and grateful for the passion and excellence she brings to Syracuse Latin each day.

This week was a beautiful reminder that when teachers, students, families, and community come together, amazing things happen.

This week at Syracuse Latin, our students truly showed what they know and gave us so many reasons to celebrate!

Our scholars in grades 3–8 tackled the New York State ELA assessments with focus, perseverance, and confidence. We are so proud of the hard work they put in all year and the way they approached testing ready to shine.

The excitement continued after the final bell with an epic After School Showcase, where families and guests got to see the incredible projects students have been creating in our afterschool program. From creativity to collaboration, our students proved that learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends!

Our 2nd grade students also took learning on the road during their grade-level field trip to the MOST Museum, where hands-on exploration brought science and discovery to life.

And finally, we are incredibly proud of our kindergarten and 4th grade teams, who were invited to present the Project Based Learning lessons they developed this year to teachers and leaders across the district. Their innovation and hard work are helping inspire learning beyond our own building!

From testing triumphs to student showcases and district leadership, this week was another reminder that Syracuse Latin students and staff continue to LIGHT the way.

This week, the spotlight shines on one of the most exciting parts of our school year—Enrichment Classes! 🌟

This week marked the official close of our 2026 Enrichment Program, and what an incredible journey it has been. Throughout the year, our students had the opportunity to explore interests, discover new talents, and learn in creative ways through more than 40 different enrichment clubs.

From sewing club to stop-motion animation, bridge building to improv club, Legos to designing adaptive equipment, and workout & wellness to farming and agriculture—our legends showed curiosity, teamwork, and passion every step of the way.

Enrichment classes remind us that learning happens in so many ways, especially when students are given the chance to follow their passions and try something new.

Be sure to check out this week’s highlight reel to see our students in action!
