When Ava Wood did not show up for school this morning at Durgee junior high, her mother went to check on her, according to 911 dispatches. Ava, whose parents were separated, had spent the night at her dad's home in Baldwinsville.
The woman told dispatchers there were cars in the home’s driveway but no answer at the door. She also told dispatchers the girl's father had said "this is how it ends for us" the night before.
Ava, 14, and her father, Christopher Wood, 51, were found dead inside the home. Police said it appears the father shot and killed his daughter before fatally shooting himself: https://l.syracuse.com/NlqF4j
