Perfect Practice & the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs are pleased to share that Big League Edge is proud to announce the national selection of Kellen Williamson, 2027 16U Jr. Chiefs, to our 16U Gold Team, representing the United States in the 2026 LABC Games.

Kellen hails from Candor, NY - Northeast and played for the 2025 15U Syracuse Jr. Chiefs, the oldest youth travel ball program in the Northeast. He's a solid INF with a power arm and bat. He is a two-way threat due to his athletic physicality that plays to all aspects of his game. Williamson features a compact swing that stays in the zone late in the frame, which produces emerging power to all parts of the field.

Kellen earned his spot after being selected from 4,000+ athletes who attended USA trials nationwide. The Organization officially congratulates him upon this incredible accomplishment.

Laney Harbaugh is now part of the Upstate Empire Coaches, taking the helm of the 14U Upstate Empire team! With her expertise in slap hitting, batting, base running, and defensive skills, she is an essential asset to the Upstate Empire Softball Program, inspiring the Empire to Rise As One!

Laney played collegiate softball at Binghamton University from 2021–2023 as a lead-off hitter and left fielder while pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Although her collegiate career was cut short by a hip injury, she made an immediate impact, earning America East Rookie of the Week honors (2022), selection to the America East All-Rookie Team (2022), and All-Conference honors (2023).

Before college, Laney was a standout at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Her accomplishments include helping lead Cicero-North Syracuse to the 2019 NYSPHSAA Class AAA State Runner-Up finish, earning two NYSSWA All-State selections, being named SCAC Rookie of the Year (2019) and SCAC Player of the Year (2021), and receiving All-Central New York (CNY) Team honors in both 2019 and 2021.

As an instructor, Laney is passionate about helping young athletes build confidence while developing the fundamentals needed to succeed. She is dedicated to teaching the finer details of slap hitting, offensive strategy, base running, defensive play, and hitting mechanics in a positive, energetic, and encouraging environment. Her goal is to help every player maximize their potential while developing a love for the game.

Whether working with beginners or advanced athletes, Laney focuses on building sound mechanics, developing confidence, and teaching players how to compete with passion and purpose. She believes that hard work, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are the foundation for success both on and off the field.

Laney is available for private lessons, small-group instruction, team clinics, and camps at Perfect Practice. She looks forward to helping the next generation of softball players reach their full potential.

We are thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our coaching team who will proudly represent the USA at the 2027 Latin American Baseball Championships in the Dominican Republic—Nick Antonello.

From August 9-15, Nick will join CJ Vivaqua and me as representatives of the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs, bringing our coaching presence to three members strong. Together, we will guide, manage, instruct, and mentor some of the finest players from across the United States.
