NOTICE OF JOB OPENING

The Hamilton County Register of Deeds Office is accepting applications for the full-time position of Deputy Register of Deeds. Computer experience, legible handwriting, attention to details and customer service skills required. Salary based upon skill and experience. Job includes full benefit package with Employer paid health insurance.

All applications must be handwritten and are available at the Register of Deeds Office, 219 N. Main St., Syracuse, Kansas.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! After the 2026 Legislative Session, the student loan repayment ROZ program was not extended and the program sunsets on June 30, 2026.

If you have a pending application or wish to apply, please make sure to get everything completed to get approved by the June 30th deadline! Applicants who are approved and fully sponsored by the County may participate for the full five year repayment term, provided they remain eligible.

If you know anyone that lives in Hamilton County and has outstanding student loan debt, Hamilton County and Kansas Rural Opportunity Zone is offering a student loan repayment program. They may be eligible for student loan reimbursement up to $15,000.00. Here is a link with additional information and the application.
