Bridge 2 Brothers is off to a great start in its sixth summer on Randall Road! Fifth and sixth grade students from Syracuse City School District are gathering each day to spend time engaging in fun science experiments, math games, reading, writing and the arts. The students are taught by CBA teachers and led by CBA students serving as volunteer counselors.
The students enjoyed field trips to pick blueberries at Critz Farms, and hiking at Clark's Reservation. Chanu Yang '27 launched the Bridge 2 Baseline program, providing free tennis lessons for the students. The B2B strings program has continued under the leadership of Eric Lee '26 and Christian Lee '28.
Guest speakers shared their wisdom with our students, including our own teachers Roberto Perez, Pat Wiese, and Zac Schrecengost, and alumni Bruce Williams. Alumni Grey Blake '22 has returned to B2B to to teach the students how to write and compose their own musical theater production.
Our second week of B2B brought the opportunity to build and launch their own rockets. In PE, the students formed teams and held a world cup tournament, with a thrilling conclusion in which the USA was triumphant over Norway in penalty kicks.

On Monday, July 6, CBA students Abby Sturgen, Maya White-Dudhani, Nico Lay, Rayna Reed, and Frazier Lavender traveled to Camden, NJ for a mission trip led by the incredible staff at Romero Center Ministries. Accompanied by Campus Minister Mrs. Landers and 11/12th Grade Counselor Mr. Wittman, the group served at various non-profits in the Camden area where they assisted in efforts to help the poor and vulnerable.
Overall, the experience offered valuable life lessons on charity, justice, and the importance of community. We look forward to hearing their personal testimonies when they return to school this fall!
