This morning, I joined Book Buddies, staff, families, community members, and Councilman Marty Nave at Dr. Edwin E. Weeks Elementary School to welcome students back.

Syracuse Stands for Students is about every student across our district. We see you, we believe in you, and we stand with you. 📚

Spent Labor Day with my Hawley-Green neighbors at the Cultivating Community Garden cookout. Great food, meaningful conversations, and a wonderful time connecting with the community. Grateful for the people who make Hawley-Green such a special place.

Lighting up the streets with “Syracuse Stands for Students!”

I’m excited to welcome our SCSD students back to school on Tuesday. Every student deserves to know that their community is behind them.

On September 8, students across the Syracuse City School District will head back to school. While the first day can be exciting, it can also feel overwhelming and even a little scary.

That’s why I’m proud to support the new “Syracuse Stands for Students” campaign. I’m calling on our entire community to come together, show up, and cheer on our students as they begin a new school year.

Today, I stopped by Pearl Cuts on the Northside for a fresh cut and to support a new local business started by my East African brothers from Burundi 🇧🇮. I left them with “Syracuse Stands for Students” lawn signs to display at their business and take home.

Moments like this remind me why I believe so strongly in community-centered education. Our students succeed when families, educators, local businesses, neighbors, and community members all stand behind them. It takes all of us.

I still have more “Syracuse Stands for Students” lawn signs and posters available. If you would like one, let me know and I’d be happy to drop one off.

Every student deserves a community behind them. When our students start strong, they finish strong.

🚨 CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISER UPDATE 🚨

Due to a scheduling conflict, our campaign fundraiser originally scheduled for Thursday, October 1st has been rescheduled to Thursday, October 8th, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 PM at Harvey’s Garden.

Funds raised will help our campaign purchase lawn signs and mailers and continue reaching voters throughout our community. As a first-time candidate, your support means a great deal to me and helps us keep building momentum.

Thank you for your flexibility, encouragement, and continued support. I truly appreciate everyone who continues to stand with our campaign.

OCC is an ordinary college with extraordinary results. I had great professors who instilled in me the confidence to believe that anything is possible. As I resume my studies this fall, I’m reminded of how powerful education and encouragement can be. Every student deserves educators who believe in them and opportunities that help them believe in themselves.
