🚨 Advanced Education! 🚨
We're excited to announce our upcoming Fall 2026 AEMT Course—don't miss out!
The course runs from September 2026 to April 2027.
Lead Instructor: Timothy Visser, AEMT & CIC
Lectures are HYBRID (via Zoom), and Labs are in-person on select days, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6pm-10pm.
In-person sessions are held at EMSTAT, 550 East Genesee Street, Syracuse.
A Health Assessment is MANDATORY to complete before clinical and field internships during the course.
We are thrilled to introduce our new comprehensive design for an AEMT program here at Upstate. Students will finish the program feeling ready to take on leadership roles and confident in performing newly learned advanced lifesaving skills. We hope to see you there! 🙂

Rob Finger, Paramedic Program Director, and Mel Pitman, Clinical Coordinator, spent the last few days in New Orleans at the CoAEMSP Accreditcon Conference.
The insights gained will help us strengthen our Paramedic Program and continue delivering top-tier EMS education in the Central New York region.
Grateful for the collaboration of programs from across the country and the continued commitment to EMS excellence.

Upstate EMS is out in the wild today! We’re attending the Career Jam presented by The Workplace, Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, & The Jefferson-Lewis Workforce Development Board. More than 2000 eighth-graders from 4 different counties will have the opportunity to interact with professionals from more than 80 businesses representing 16 different career clusters.

This is a day that will be split into 2 sessions a morning session dedicated to EMS pre-hospital care for our EMT's, AEMT's & Paramedics. With hand on labs that will be in tandem with the lecture material. 🚑
Then an afternoon session dedicated to our in-hospital care workers. Physicians, APP's, nurses etc. With labs that will be in tandem with the lecture material as well. 🩺
This is a FREE event to attend, and food and drink accommodations will be served for those who attend. 🥤🍔
This is a great hands-on learning event that we are very excited to host.

Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Tompkins County EMT Class, who completed their NYS Practical Skills Exam today! 🎉
The PSE is the first step in the certification process after class completion to become an EMT. 🩺 🚑
Students worked hard, and it showed.
The next step will be the NYS or NREMT Written exams.
We wish all of our students the best of luck on your exam and future endeavors!
