This week, we joined partners from across the country in Boston for the Reach Out and Read Early Relational Health (ERH) Measures Task Force Meeting.

We know that strong relationships are the foundation for healthy child development, and we're grateful for opportunities to connect, learn, and collaborate with ERH experts and parent leaders from across the country.

Help Me Grow Herkimer County, an initiative of the Herkimer County Public Health Department, marks another important step toward statewide adoption of the Help Me Grow model and represents a meaningful investment in the well-being of young children and families.

We’re grateful for the educators, families, and advocates who carry this mission forward every day. Thank you for all you do to support children during their earliest and most important years!

🎉 Happy Birthday, Head Start!

For 61 years, Head Start has supported children and families through early learning, health, nutrition, and family engagement. This work has helped build strong foundations for lifelong success in communities across the country.

We're so proud to celebrate the success of last night’s Forgotten Dads' Voices Panel & Awards Night!

A huge shoutout to Forgotten Dads' founder and ECA Onondaga team member Nathanial Slater, who is doing the vital work of amplifying fathers' voices and supporting families right here in our community.

The evening featured powerful stories from seven fathers, a special father-son dance, and a deep focus on how a father’s presence transforms early childhood development. As Nate says, "When fathers are heard, generations are changed!"

Check out some highlights from the evening below. 👇

This week, we proudly celebrate !

Home visitors play a vital role in supporting families right where they are: at home. Through connection, guidance, and care, they help children grow and families thrive.

Thank you to all home visitors for the meaningful relationships you build and the difference you make every day in Onondaga County.

Four years ago, Onondaga County was selected as one of five proof point communities from across the country to participate in the Pediatrics Supporting Parents (PSP) shared-learning initiative.

Since then, the Early Childhood Alliance Onondaga, in partnership with Upstate Pediatric and Adolescent Center (UPAC), has worked locally and nationally to test and learn from strategies that center parent and family voice in pediatric care and in the broader community.

This work helped strengthen relationships, elevate family leadership, and build more connected systems of support for young children and their caregivers.

As this cohort comes to a close, we’re proud of what’s been accomplished and committed to carrying this learning forward into continued practice and partnership.
