In partnership with the Jr. NBA, registration for our 5th Annual Winter Basketball League is now open! ⛄❄️

This season is open to boys from 3rd through 9th grade. Games will be held on Saturdays at 9:00 AM at Ed Smith School, located at 1106 Lancaster Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210.

The league kicks off on October 25 with practices, and games will run from December 6 through January 10.

Ed Smith students in grades 4-8 have been working on rugby skills -- here are TWO opportunities for students to continue developing their skills!

1) Play Flag Rugby at O'Connor Park through CNY Rugby (K-12 Students) - It starts on *May 7th*, so sign-up today!!!

2) Take advantage of a two-day P*e Wee Rugby Camp hosted at Syracuse University, in partnership with Leinster Rugby — one of the most prestigious rugby organizations in the world.

📅 Dates: Monday & Tuesday, August 11th & 12th
🕤 Time: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
📍 Location: Syracuse University
👧🧒 Ages: Open to boys and girls aged 5 to 12
Cost: $125
🎒 All participants will receive , a rugby ball, and a camp t-shirt!
Whether your child is new to the game or already developing their rugby skills, this camp is designed to cater to all levels. Under the expert guidance of Leinster Rugby coaches, players will:
• Learn and refine fundamental rugby skills
• Grow in confidence through teamwork and fun challenges

The Syracuse Latin School 6th grader Saruar Aitbayeva is one of 20 CNY students who will compete in the final oral round of the Syracuse.com spelling bee! She’ll be completing at Syracuse University on March 22nd, and then the winner of that competition will represent CNY in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Maryland this spring. We’re so proud of Saruar for her hard work, persistence, and preparation – and for representing the entire district in this challenging competition!
