Our 3rd - 6th graders had their egg drop yesterday. Two weeks ago they worked on the design, last week they built the design and yesterday they added the egg and finishing touches to the design and then had the official egg drop!

Our Kindergarteners through second graders and parents came to watch and share this fun science experiment together! Who said learning wasn’t fun?!? 🥚🍳

These kids have been working so hard on their egg drop projects! They’re building something to protect an egg when we drop it from the roof. Gravity is definitely working against them, but they’ve come up with some pretty creative ideas. Next week we get to see whose egg survives!

A little peek at what lunchtime looks like at MSA.

The kids eat together outside, then they have time to play, run around, visit the animals, and enjoy being with their friends before heading back in for the afternoon. It is simple, happy, and one of the reasons we love our school days so much.

THIS is why a play-based environment is soooo important for children of ALL ages! THIS is why we say children learn through play. And THIS is why we created MSA! Because for some reason, it’s thought that this all needs to end when “school starts”!📣📣📣

Think of play as the all encompassing experience that develops all domains at once, the ideal way for children to learn.

It is not something to outgrow or replace with drills and subjects that interrupt the body's natural sequence of development.

Academic skills will come later, once the brain and body have the psychological and physiological wiring in place.

Outdoor recess was pretty great today! We had children participating in a variety of activities from playing and helping care for animals on the farm to playing a baseball game with spectators! (Even enjoying lunch while watching!)

Does it really get better than this? I don’t think it does! We truly have the best families, students, and teachers at MSA!!!

What does learning look like today? Here’s a sneak peak of what our students are doing during Math & Language Arts time.

When they are done with their lessons, younger students get to play in their classrooms and our older students can go to our gathering area and do a variety of activities.
