발사모 부소장은 “한반도의 DMZ는 전쟁의 결과로 탄생한 ‘자연의 평화구역’이자 전쟁의 잿더미 속에서 다시 살아나는 위대한 자연 복원력을 보여준다”며 “세계 역사상 유례가 없는 이 지역은 세계 유산 지정의 가치가 있다”고 말했다. DMZ포럼(대표 이승호) 주최로 열리는 이 회의는 한반도의 DMZ(비무장지대)를 유네스코 세계 유산 (World Heritage Site)으로 지정하자는 주제를 놓고 의견을 나누는 자리이다.
