16-year-old JSE piano student performed the Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor on May 31 in Carnegie Hall. Her brilliant performance was accompanied by the New York International Youth Philharmonic.

So happy that all of our orchestra teachers and students showed up for rehearsal despite the LIRR strike. Traffic was heavy, and it took some people 2 hours to get here, but the music warmed our hearts.

Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso is one of the featured works in our upcoming Carnegie Hall concert on May 31. The energy, passion, and musical chemistry shared between our school’s teachers and students in this piece has been truly inspiring to watch during rehearsals.

On MLK Day, JOYOUS students had the honor of performing at Harvard University’s Men’s Basketball Game, sharing a special string rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy.
