Long Island’s students are increasingly diverse, and educators need the tools to ensure every student and family feels understood, welcomed, and supported.

A Hofstra University Center for Suburban Studies study found that students of color represented nearly 45% of Long Island’s public-school enrollment, while only 8% of teachers were people of color. On October 19, AAIRE will lead a professional development training at Nassau BOCES, equipping educators with practical strategies to support immigrant students and families navigating language barriers and immigration-related fears. Participating educators will receive CTLE credit.

Recognize, Respond, and Challenge Hate

AAIRE invites high school and college students to an interactive workshop exploring how narratives, misinformation, and bias shape our communities.

Participants will learn about the history and impact of anti-Asian racism, understand how extremist ideas spread, strengthen media literacy skills, and practice ways to challenge hate and build safer, more inclusive communities.

Join us to learn, engage, and take action.

A complete Census count means stronger representation, more resources, and a greater voice for our communities.

AAIRE partnered with APA VOICE to prepare community leaders for the 2030 Census. Participants learned about proposed changes, explored how outreach strategies may need to evolve, and discussed ways to ensure Asian American communities are accurately and fully represented.

This is only the beginning. In the years ahead, AAIRE will continue to work with community leaders, trusted partners, and residents to build awareness, strengthen outreach, and help ensure that every member of our community is counted.

Thank you to APA VOICE and everyone who joined us. Together, we are working to ensure that our communities are counted, heard, and always have a seat at the table.
