Lionheart Children's Academy at Five Lakes Church

A huge thank you to all of the Lionheart Children’s Academy mothers who came out to support our “Muffins for Mom” event today at Five Lakes Church from 3:30 PM–5:00 PM!

What a joy it was to honor both you and your children. It was so special watching each of you read stories with your little ones, create beautiful Mother’s Day flower crafts together, and fellowship with one another while enjoying muffins and juice.

Thank you for making this event so meaningful and memorable. May God richly bless each of you and your precious children! 💐🙏💕💝

What a joyful Easter celebration we shared with our wonderful children and families at Lionheart Children’s Academy! From Easter egg decorating and creative painting projects to delicious cookie treats and special gift bags sharing the Easter story, every moment was filled with smiles and laughter. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us—we loved making these sweet memories together!

Thank you Five Lakes Church Pastors and Staff for taking the time to read to the children at Lionheart Children’s Academy! 🦁 Your presence has brought so much joy and warmth to our classrooms and events! Meet Our New Academy Director: Mrs. Laura DeGasto-Simon!

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Laura DeGasto-Simon as our new Academy Director! Laura brings with her more than 30 years of experience educating young children, along with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Toledo (Go Rockets!).

Laura is married to her husband, Zack, who serves in the U.S. Air Force, and together they have two wonderful daughters. Monica is a college junior studying Criminal Justice and Pre-Law, and Gianna is a high school senior who loves basketball and volleyball.

When she’s not leading in the classroom, Laura enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and pickleball with her family. She also serves in her church, caring for infants and toddlers in children’s ministry.

Laura shares, “I am so excited to be part of the Lionheart family and look forward to nurturing, inspiring, and uplifting God’s children.”
