It was great to see so much excitiment and smiling facing during our Meet and Greet today. We are going to have another amazing year here at CT! We will see out 1st-5th grades this Wednesday!

This past spring, fifth grade students from Central Trail Elementary and Stranahan Elementary came together through a special postcard exchange designed to introduce students to one another as they entered a new school, a new building, and a new community of friends.

Working with printmaking techniques, students created landscape postcards to introduce themselves to their new peers. Each postcard became a small work of art and a personal connection between students who would soon share the same school community. The exchange gave students an opportunity to explore printmaking while building relationships through creativity, kindness, and a shared love of art.

Students also created additional prints to be displayed as part of this collaborative art exhibit in the lobby of their new school. Together, these prints celebrate the students’ creativity and the connections made through this project.

We hope this exhibit serves as a reminder that art can help us welcome one another, build community, and make a new place feel a little more like home.
