Yesterday was the last day with students, and there were definitely some difficult moments saying goodbye to my 8th graders. This is the first class I was able to have all three years, and they will not be forgotten quickly. Luckily for me, I have some pretty amazing sixth graders that I know will give me plenty of smile about over the next two years, including my TikTok dance debut.

They said, “Can you talk to him?”

So I got down to his level… then a notch below.

One-on-one can be intimidating for a student, so I give up the physical advantage right away.

Not as a strategy — just as a starting point.

I told him I’ve worked in all 50 states.
He smiled… and started naming them.
45 out of 50. Just like that.

Reminder:
The student in front of us is always more than the behavior we were told about.

⛄️Our Timberstone 8th grade choir had a great afternoon performing for a packed audience at Kingston Residence of Sylvania! The song list was full of winter favorites, "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Viva La Vida", and more. For the sing-along, we think ALL of Sylvania could hear the room full of beautiful voices.
