YEEHAW! DNP Cohort 3 spent their weekend exploring Nashville and the AANA annual conference. We are happy to see students take the opportunity to network, learn, and most importantly, have fun!

SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT: Sean Moore, DNP, CRNA

Sean Moore is the assistant program director for the University of Akron’s nurse anesthesia program. He completed his anesthesia training at Case Western Reserve University and earned his DNP at The University of Alabama. Currently, he is enrolled in the PhD program at Barry University in which his research is examining pharmacogenetics and CRNAs.

Sean Moore will be discussing pharmacogenetics and the implications for anesthesia providers.

SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT: Brian Kasson, DNP, CRNA

Brian Kasson was an associate clinical professor at the Northern Kentucky University Nurse Anesthesia Program, retiring January 2024. He was a faculty member and speaker at the AANAs highly acclaimed Spinal and Epidural Workshops for over 10 years and was the president of the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists. As author and coauthor, he has published in the AANA Journal, Anesthesia and Analgesia as well as the chapters on Obstetrical Anesthesia in the 5th and 6th editions of Nagelhout’s textbook Nurse Anesthesia.

Brian Kasson will be discussing obstetrical crisis management.
