🎓 A powerful ending, and an even brighter beginning.

On Saturday, Lourdes University held its final graduation ceremony, honoring the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of our undergraduate and graduate education students.

This day was more than a celebration of academic achievement; it was a testament to the passion these future educators carry with them into their careers. They leave Lourdes prepared to inspire, lead, and make a meaningful impact in schools and communities everywhere.

Though this chapter is coming to a close, the legacy of Lourdes lives on through each and every graduate.

A meaningful milestone for our future educators and for Lourdes University.

This spring marked our final Student Teacher Mock Interview Day, bringing together nine schools who poured their time, insight, and encouragement into our students. Through authentic interview experiences, individualized feedback, and professional connections, our student teachers gained the confidence and clarity needed to take their next steps into the field of education.

While this event has always been a cornerstone of our teacher preparation program, this final iteration carries even greater significance. It reflects the strength of our partnerships, the dedication of our faculty, and the lasting impact of a Lourdes education.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the administrators and school leaders from:
Springfield City Schools, Sylvania City Schools, Toledo Public Schools, Woodrow Preschool, Christ the King School, Saint Joseph Parish School, Toledo Central Catholic, Perrysburg City Schools, and CCMT Schools.

Your investment in our students helps shape classrooms, communities, and futures.

As we close this chapter, we invite you to join us in celebrating these future educators, leave a word of encouragement, share this post, or reflect on a teacher who made a difference in your life.

As we approach the close of an era at Lourdes University, our KDP education students came together to create the final Division of Education bulletin board of the year.

This display represents more than just a project; it reflects the journeys, opportunities, and futures of Lourdes students as they take the next steps beyond graduation.

While Lourdes University’s chapter is coming to an end, the impact of its educators will continue in classrooms and communities everywhere.

They didn’t just attend a statewide education conference; they took the stage.

Last week, Lourdes University’s Division of Education proudly represented Northwest Ohio at the 13th Annual Ohio Deans Compact on Exceptional Children Conference. Alongside education faculty leaders, three Like Me Program students co-presented during the Research-to-Practice sessions, sharing the model, mission, and measurable impact of the Like Me Program.

Throughout the conference, our students engaged with national researchers, state policymakers, and education leaders on topics including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Specially Designed Instruction, Ohio’s K–12 Mathematics Plan, and strengthening the special education workforce.

This experience went beyond professional development: It built confidence, strengthened research and presentation skills, expanded statewide networks, and most importantly, it prepared our future educators to make an immediate impact in Ohio classrooms.

At Lourdes, we don’t just prepare teachers; we develop education leaders who contribute to the profession while they are still students.

We had a great visit today with the AVID juniors and seniors at Bowsher High School!

Representatives from Lourdes University’s Division of Education and the Like Me Program shared information about college pathways, education majors, financial aid, student life, and the support systems available to future educators.

We also highlighted the Like Me Program, which provides mentorship, academic support, real classroom experience, and partner school opportunities for students pursuing education careers.

AVID’s focus on college readiness and high expectations closely aligns with Lourdes University’s mission to prepare students for success in the classroom and beyond.

From the classroom to lifelong impact, Lourdes alumni are shaping the future of education every day.

We’re proud to spotlight Riley Hogan, a Lourdes University alumnus who is making a difference as a 10th & 11th grade English teacher and Mythology elective instructor at Monroe High School. Riley earned his B.A. in English and B.S. in Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) Education, graduating in December 2019.

Riley reflects on Lourdes as a place that not only shaped his career but also his life. From meaningful relationships with faculty and peers to unforgettable memories—like meeting his wife while playing soccer—Lourdes provided a welcoming, supportive environment that helped him grow into the educator he is today.

At Lourdes University, our Division of Education is committed to preparing future teachers through strong mentorship, real-world classroom experiences, and a mission-driven approach to education.
