Of course, you’ve got to have a little fun while learning a very important life-saving skill! The students decided to see if they could keep up with Mike Huffman in a little friendly competition… and they definitely gave him a run for his money! Lots of laughs, lots of energy, and plenty of determination filled the room.

Today our Jackson County Fire and Life Safety team had the pleasure of teaching CPR to the 8th and 9th grade students of HCA! These students did an amazing job learning lifesaving skills and jumped right in with great attitudes and energy.

To make things even more fun, they decided to challenge the instructor to a little friendly competition — and they kept up with him! We had lots of laughs, great participation, and were impressed by their enthusiasm and determination.

Teaching these important skills and seeing young people eager to learn how they can help save a life is always rewarding. Great job to all of the students today — you all rocked it! 👏🚒❤️

We are so proud of all the students at Scott’s Creek School 3rd grade class. Each and everyone single one of them made and even passed their reading goals for this school year!!!!!thank you Sylva Fire Department for coming and supporting us and helping out Scotts Creek School for letting us come into your school and can’t forget Mike Huffman for letting all these amazing kids drown you with the fire hose!!!!!

Today marked the SEVENTH year of our Fire and Life Safety Golf Tournament at the beautiful Trillium Golf Course in Cashiers! We were incredibly blessed to have 23 amazing teams join us on the course this year and help make this event another huge success.

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the players, supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and departments who helped make today possible. Events like this take a lot of teamwork behind the scenes, and we truly appreciate everyone who gave their time, support, and effort.

Thank you to everyone who came out, played, helped, and supported us. We are grateful for each and every one of you and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come! ⛳🚒🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️
