The Sylacauga City Schools Foundation would like to invite any and all graduates of Sylacauga High School to know about and contribute to the Coach Earl Lewis Chair. Coach Lewis for decades did so much for our school system, athletics, and the Sylacauga community. Honoring him with a Foundation Chair would be a very meaningful way to remember his legacy! The Sylacauga City Schools Foundation looks forward to this day in May each year to showcase the "why" we do "what" we do!! Since 1996 we have awarded three deserving recognitions for the Joseph B. Morton Excellence in Education awards to an Educator, Support Personnel, and Volunteer of the Year. Terra DeLoach received the Educator of the Year, Jackie Forbus the Support Personnel of the Year, and Amanda Kinard the Volunteer of the Year.

Since 2016 we have rewarded school personnel for supporting the Foundation through payroll deduction with a $50 drawing each month. The May winner is Alex Mosley. Joining Alex were all empoyees who have ever won the drawing.

The grand finale is the awarding of the 2026 grants. Congratulations to all of the teachers who received a grant to enhance and supplement the educational experience of our students!!

Congratulations to the 2026 scholarship recipients sponsored by the Sylacauga City Schools Foundation.

​​Lawson Ledbetter--Lucille and Julius Anderson Technical Scholarship
Lawson will be attending CACC majoring in welding and minoring in machining.

Kyra Elizabeth Bolton--Future Teacher Scholarship
Kyra will be attending Jacksonville State University majoring in elementary education.

​​Maggie Watkins--SCS Foundation Scholarship
Maggie will be attending The University of Alabama majoring in accounting.

We are proud of these three students and look forward to their successes after high school. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Cali Sanchez, career coach at Sylacauga High School, who is the April 2026 Dollars for Scholars winner. Cali received $50 from the Sylacauga City Schools Foundation as a token of our appreciation for supporting the Foundation through monthly payroll deduction. Our goal has been and will always be for 100% of our school employees to be supportive of our local school Foundation with this small act of giving through payroll deduction. We appreciate Cali's support of the Foundation and her dedication to our school system. All employees who contribute to the Foundation through payroll deduction are eligible for the monthly $50 drawing.
