🚨 It’s Meet the Staff Monday! 🚨

Today we are featuring Mrs. Miriam Rao! We can’t let her leave us without giving her a major shoutout! While we are so sad to say goodbye, we are also so excited for her as she begins her motherhood journey. She’s due this month, so she’s not returning because she’s expecting the baby soon! She has been one of our extended day teachers in the Red Room (3D). She started four years ago, and our EYLC friends have loved her ever since. She’s been married for over a year and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She serves as one of the leaders for her church’s youth group in worship and discipleship, which is one of her favorite places to be. She has three younger brothers and is the oldest cousin of 15–and she’s very close to all of them! This is where her love for children all started. Outside of work, she loves to sing, hike, paddle board, and hang out with close friends and family. Please help us wish her well and pray for her new family of three!

🚨 It’s Meet the Staff Monday! 🚨

Today we are celebrating our very own Karen Rauch!

Karen has been one of our very best teachers, dedicated to the 4 year olds in the Yellow Room (4A). This past school year was her 5th year at EYLC! She and her husband Todd have lived in Eldersburg for over 25 years. Their daughter Hailee (21) attended EYLC and attended Shippensburg University where she graduated last December. Karen attends Wesley Freedom UMC and taught preschool Sunday Schoool for 12 years, and was involved with VBS for 18 years. She worked at Piney Ridge Elementary School for four and a half years, and for two of those years, she worked one-on-one in the Special Education Department.

We always love seeing her smile, and her students are growing and learning under one of the sweetest teachers they will ever have!

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing EYLC staff, families and friends for your support and votes. We are grateful to be part of such an amazing community.

As we celebrate this exciting recognition, we’re also looking ahead to another wonderful school year! Enrollment is OPEN, and spaces are filling quickly. We currently have limited openings available in our Preschool and Extended Day Preschool programs (6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.).

Our 2-year-olds had a sweet little celebration of their own last week! Families gathered together to watch the children sing some of the songs they learned throughout the year, and there were plenty of smiles, waves, and proud moments all around. It was such a special way to celebrate how much they have grown this year socially, emotionally, and academically.

We are so thankful for the joy these little ones bring each day, and as summer begins, we pray for God’s blessings over each child and family. May their summer be filled with laughter, love, sunshine, and many beautiful memories together. We are so proud of our youngest learners!

Last week, our 3-year-olds enjoyed a beautiful morning picnic with their families and teachers! It was such a special time celebrating all they have learned, the friendships they have built, and the sweet memories made throughout this school year. From laughter and play to one last morning together, it was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing year.

As we send our little learners off for summer, we pray God’s blessings over each of them and their families. May their days be filled with sunshine, joy, adventure, and lots of love. We are so proud of our 3-year-olds and cannot wait to see all the wonderful things they continue to do!

Caps off to our EYLC graduates… or should we say promoted preschoolers! 🎓✨

Today was about so much more than celebrating learning ABCs and 123s. Over this past year, our children built friendships, learned kindness, gained confidence, practiced independence, and discovered how to work and grow together. Those life lessons and memories are just as important as everything learned in the classroom. 💙

We are incredibly proud of our students and all they have accomplished this year. As they move on to their next adventure, we pray for God’s continued blessings over each child and their families as they learn, grow, and shine.

The colors, the scribbles, the “upside down people,” the giant circles that somehow represent the family dog… it’s all storytelling before children even have the words for it.
Research shows that art helps children build problem-solving skills, confidence, emotional expression, creativity, and even early literacy and fine motor development. But honestly? Sometimes the best part is simply watching a child realize, “I made this.”
At preschool, we’re not just making crafts — we’re helping children discover their voice, their imagination, and the joy of creating something all their own. 🎨✨

Last day for the 3’s today. It’s a beautiful goodbye, they all will be missed. We’ve had a great year!
