My daughter is attending in school tomorrow. Should I pack extra clothes?
Did anyone else receive this email? How are our emails are being acquired. I'm hoping Parent Connect is not being used for such a platform...
Just wanted to share that Mr. Jim, bus #19 driver passed away last week after a year and a half battle with cancer.

We had such an abrupt end to the onsite school year, I know my kids are very sad about this news. He was a great driver and loved the kids.

Mr Jim was able to receive his award from the county just weeks before his passing 🙌💞

As a parent of an MES kindergartener (in Mrs. Jamie Hennigan's class) I just wanted to take a second to seriously thank all of the teachers and MES staff for working so hard to put together a distance learning platform for us. It is so important to keep the kids in as normal an environment as possible in the midst of the chaos. I know my daughter is really missing the classroom and the social interaction with her teachers and friends. She is so thrilled to be able to get back into "class" now! I know how tirelessly you worked to get this up so incredibly quickly and without any real precident as a guide. So I am truly grateful to you all for everything you do! It makes all the difference to us, whether you lead these kids from a physical classroom or a vitual one. Thank you!
I have a question for parents who work. How do you do google classroom when you are at work. Emilie does some (little) work on her own and when I get home after 14 hours we try to do some work. I had off today and spent most of the day on one subject. I just need some advice. Thank you.
Does anyone know when holiday sweater day is? I took a picture of this sign in the hallway on November 14th.. I'm just realizing December 8th is tomorrow which is a Sunday.🤦
Do the 3rd graders need to be at the school earlier than normal tomorrow for their field trip?
5th grade parents: Join us at West Middle on May 23 at 6:30pm for a Parent Information Night
Thank you so much for an amazing Teacher Appreciation Lunch today and all the wonderful treats this week. We definitely appreciate our PTA and volunteers for everything they do. 💗💗
Thank you so much to the PTA for the Teacher Treat Cart today!! It definitely put a smile in my heart🥰 this afternoon. Thank you

DEAR MIGHTY MUSTANG FAMILIES –

We are excited to announce that Mechanicsville will be participating in the American Heart Association’s KIDS HEART CHALLENGE again this year! Although our event will look different, we are encouraging all students/families to JOIN IN THE FUN and become HEART HEROES!

During the month of February, our students will be learning about physical and social-emotional health in PE as part of the Kids Heart Challenge. To reinforce the healthy messaging, we are encouraging students/families to go online and take the challenge. This year the challenges are to BE KIND, MOVE MORE and CHOOSE WATER. Our goal is to share Kids Heart Challenge information with families, get students registered on their website and have students take a healthy challenge.

Teachers should be sending an invitation to join by email.

If you have any questions concerning the 2021 KIDS HEART CHALLENGE, please contact Ms. Murphey.

We have an entrepreneur at Mechanicsville we want to tell you all about! Andrew N is 9 and in Ms. Winebrunner's class. Andrew opened a candy shop on Etsy and learned life lessons about customer service and shipping with the USPS. He is also super generous and wanted his proceeds to go the the Mechanicsville PTA.

All we can say is wow! We are so impressed by Andrew and his generosity. His candy shop will only be open for a bit longer so visit it while you can. After all, it is hard work to own a business and ace third grade at the same time.

[01/07/21]   This is a slightly different call to help than you are used to.

Since Mechanicsville returned to hybrid instruction, lunch monitors are needed. Monitors are needed Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri from 11:30-1:30. They can be flexible even if you can just cover your child’s hybrid days. This would be a paid, part time position and considered hourly staff at Mechanicsville. If you are interested or know someone who would be let us know!
