Good day for dryfire if you are stuck inside. Establish the perfect grip, the perfect stance, and work on the perfect trigger press. If running a dot do some occlusion training, ie cover the front of the dot and make sure you have both eyes open.

I wanted to offer a thought on any use of force, deadly or non-deadly.

We use the appropriate amount of force to stop the action that causes us to use such force. We don’t use force to kill or maim, just stop the action that created the situation.

Here’s a link to a policy that federal DOJ police are instructed on.

If you're looking for something to do during winter break, think about a dry fire session with me or a trip to the range. Lack of snow means more range time.

Dry fire is the key to improvement, 3 times a week, 10 minutes a time, is a good way to start. Focus on stance, grip, and trigger press. Once you get those things down, work on some movement and holster work.

I’ve had this come up twice recently. I recommend SABRE OC products for self-defense, but they have multiple products, which can get confusing. I recommend pepper gel for protection against people, but when dealing with vicious animals, I recommend the spray. The spray has a wider delivery system and is more likely to affect the animal's respiratory system. The gel is less likely to cross-contaminate and I recommend it over the spray in most circumstances. Vicious animals are smaller targets and generally move faster than people, the spray will be more forgiving. Both products are available on Amazon.
