As many of you are probably aware the situation regarding the COVID-19 virus is rapidly changing. Due to that we as a board have made the decision to postpone this weekends annual lamb banquet/ meeting for a later date to be determined. We will reach out as soon as we have figured out a new date. It is unfortunate that we have to do this but with a large number of people scheduled to be in attendance we are doing this to err on the side of caution. If you have any questions please let us know.

Enjoy a delicious meal prepared by 5B's Catering Service featuring carved leg of lamb, grilled chicken, buttered corn, salad, red potatoes, dinner rolls, dessert and choice of beverage. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for youth (5-12 years). Children 4 and under are free. Purchase tickets at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau.

The annual meeting of the DeKalb County Lamb & Wool Producers will be held Saturday, March 14th at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau in Sycamore. The Lamb buffet (open to the public) begins at 5:30 pm catered by 5 B's catering. The annual meeting will follow the buffet. Tickets can be purchased at the farm bureau until March 6th.

The DeKalb County Lamb and Wool Producer's Assn. is pleased to announce it's annual sheep scholarship program. This scholarship is designed to assist young people ages 8-18 years old purchase a sheep for their 4-H or FFA project. This program is open to new or novice sheep exhibitors or producers in DeKalb and surrounding counties. More information is available by contacting the DeKalb County Farm Bureau or the Lamb and Wool Producers at [email protected] . The deadline for applications is January 25th, 2020.

Through a program put on by the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, the DeKalb County Lamb and Wool producers recently purchased and donated educational books about sheep to local area elementary and middle schools.

The DeKalb Lamb and Wool producers will be set up at Cornfest in DeKalb this weekend on Saturday 8/24. We will be educating the public and promoting the lamb industry. If you come to Cornfest stop by and see us, we will be located on north 3rd street in the commodity area.

Thank you to everyone who came to our annual meeting and dinner. We would like to congratulate our youth scholarship winner Sofie Ellingson and our Distinguished service award winner Gary & Vicki Brockmann family. We would also like to welcome our two new board members Chauncey Watson and Brett Smith, and say thank you to our retiring board members Carol S***z and Jason Peterson.
