Today is Custodian Appreciation Day!

We would like to recognize our two AMAZING custodians, Mr. Funkhouser and Mr. Tomlinson! Mr. Funkhouser has worked at West for 9 years, and is in his 2nd year as our Head Custodian. Mr. Tomlinson is our Night Custodian and he's in his 2nd year at West. From keeping our building clean and safe to taking care of the countless things that happen behind the scenes each day, their hard work makes a difference for our students and staff.

We are so grateful for the pride they take in caring for our school and for always being willing to lend a hand. West wouldn’t be the same without them!

Thank you, Mr. Funkhouser and Mr. Tomlinson, for all you do to keep West shining!

🚀✨ Creativity has taken off at West!

Our staff has gone above and beyond bringing this year’s “Our School is a Launchpad” theme to life throughout our building. From rockets and astronauts to stars and planets, these bulletin boards are such a fun reminder for our students to explore, dream big, and reach for the stars! 🌎🪐⭐

A big shoutout to our amazing West staff for the time, creativity, and care they put into making our school a fun and welcoming place for our students. 💜💛🚀

Is your fifth grader curious about learning to play a band instrument? Join us for Fifth Grade Band Registration Nights, where students and families can learn more about the program, ask questions, and explore instrument options before registering.

Registration Events
- Wednesday, September 9 | 6:30-8:30 PM
- Thursday, September 10 | 6:30-7:30 PM
- North Grove Elementary School, 850 Republic Ave.

Band directors will be present to help parents/guardians get their student registered and answer questions. Ellman's Music of Naperville will be there to handle instrument rentals. If you have any questions, please contact Scott Mertens at [email protected]. 🎺 🎵

Join the Sycamore Orchestra Program!
Beginning in 4th grade, students can join the Sycamore Orchestra Program and learn to play violin, viola, cello, or bass. Beginning students receive a 30-minute small-group lesson once a week during the school day and participate in 45-minute large-group rehearsals every other week after school.

Students and families are invited to Sign-Up Night on Wednesday, September 2, from 3:30-6:30 PM at Sycamore Middle School. This open house will give students the opportunity to try all four instruments and rent an instrument. The monthly rental fee is the only cost for families. There is no school fee to join!
