At last week’s Portrait of a Spartan all-school assembly, students were recognized for being Communicator Champions! Staff had the opportunity to nominate a student who has exhibited the characteristics of an Effective Communicator. Well done, Spartans!

The Vertical Raise top sellers for each grade level were also recognized- and awarded with a handmade pillow! Thanks again to our Southeast community for your support!

We want to inform you that Southeast Elementary School has been experiencing a partial power outage since approximately 11:15 AM today, Monday, October 12, 2026.

Water and restroom facilities remain fully operational. However, the building's HVAC system and school phone lines are currently down. ComEd is on-site working to restore power, and we anticipate a quick resolution.

While the school's phone lines are unavailable, families who need to contact the school should visit the Southeast main office in person or call the District Administration Center at 815-899-8100 and select Communications.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this temporary disruption. We will provide an additional update once power has been fully restored.

Friday was another exciting day at Southeast Elementary! Two students were able to take advantage of their purchased Spartan Experiences at the September Store - announcements for the day and guest crossing guard!
And, by 3:00 PM we reached the schoolwide fundraiser goal of $20,000!
Thank you, Spartans, for pumping the volume all the way up🎸🎤🎼 A library glow up is coming soon 👏🏻

Monday was a gorgeous morning for a special ride to school for our Southeast Spartans!

Congratulations to our Fire Prevention Essay & Poster Contest winner! We’re so proud of your creativity and commitment to learning about fire safety—and what better way to celebrate than arriving at school in a fire truck! ❤️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Thank you to our amazing Sycamore firefighters for making this such a memorable experience! 🚒✨🖤💛💜

▪️Southeast Spartans are ending the week with some fun! Thank you to our family volunteers who helped with the first Spartan Store. Students with recent birthdays were able to spin the wheel and win additional tickets 🎟️🎉
▪️Today was also our second Theme Thursday, and we saw lots of Bears fans in the hallways (and a few Packers fans here and there, too! 🏈).
▪️Friday morning is Southeast’s first High Five Friday of the year and we are so excited for the SHS boys tennis team to join us before the day begins! 🙌🏻🖤💛💜

We are so proud of our Southeast Spartans for reaching the initial goal of $5000 in the launch week of the Vertical Raise fundraiser! With this accomplishment, they earned a music lunch yesterday 🎤🎼🎧🎸
All students pumped up the volume, and 3rd grade celebrated with a conga line!
Way to go, Spartans! 🖤💛💜

Thank you to everyone who stopped by Culver’s last night for our PTO restaurant fundraiser! 5th graders were on duty to greet & serve customers as this restaurant night will directly benefit the 5th grade Springfield trip. Culver’s was so impressed with the kindness & manners our students demonstrated, they increased the donation to 15% of sales!
Thank you, 5th grade, and thank you Southeast PTO! 🖤💛💜
