ABC Preschool, a ministry of Sycamore United Methodist Church, is seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Director to lead our beloved early childhood program for the 2026 school year.

For over 35 years, ABC Preschool has provided a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children grow socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. We are looking for a dedicated leader who shares our commitment to supporting young learners, families, and teachers in a warm and welcoming community.

Position: ABC Preschool Director

Reports to: Lead Pastor in collaboration with the ABC Committee, with oversight from the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee

Salary & Benefits: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and agreed upon hours per week.

Our little engineers have been busy building, balancing, and problem-solving! Activities like this help children explore early concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math all through hands-on play. From testing stability to figuring out how to make structures taller (without tipping over!), they’re learning critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork every step of the way.

At ABC, we believe learning happens best when children can build it, try it, adjust it… and try again. 💛

Today we begin the season of Lent. A time of prayer, reflection, and remembering God’s grace and love.

Ashes are a symbol of our humanity and our hope in God’s renewing grace. We will gather for chapel in the sanctuary, where all are welcome.

Ashes will also be offered to parents and kiddos, with your permission, of course, during morning drop-off or as you enter chapel. Participation is completely optional and offered as a gentle, meaningful way to mark this day together as a community.

We are grateful to share this sacred moment with your family. 💜

Games are such an important part of how we learn at ABC Preschool!

Today, Ms. Bridget spent time playing games with some of our kiddos and while they were having so much fun, they were also building important skills like:

• Taking turns
• Listening and following directions
• Counting and number recognition
• Problem-solving
• Good sportsmanship
• Social interaction and teamwork

At ABC, we believe learning should feel joyful and engaging. Through play-based activities, our students grow socially, emotionally, and academically all while smiling and laughing along the way. 💛

Looking for full-day preschool options for the 2026–2027 school year?

ABC Preschool offers Afternoon Adventures, where we extend learning beyond the morning classroom into a fun, engaging full-day experience!

This week, our Afternoon Adventures friends made polar bear snacks as part of a hands-on cooking assignment 🐻‍❄🍽

Afternoon Adventures gives children the chance to:
• Continue learning through play
• Explore themed activities
• Build independence and social skills
• Enjoy a full day in a nurturing, familiar environment

ABC PRESCHOOL IS HIRING!

ABC Preschool in Sycamore IL is currently looking for an four-year-old Afternoon Adventures Teacher.

Qualified candidates must love working with children and is dependable and hard working.

As an early childhood employee, you'll be responsible for being part of a team that helps support, care for and help young children in their development.

Qualifications:

60 hours of college with 6 hours in Early Childhood. OR 30 hours of college with 6 hours in Early Childhood and 1 year of experience in early childhood area. Or the completion of a Credentialing Program approved by DCFS.

Must love working with children and be able to provide your transcripts.

Applicants will be required to pass a background check and be fingerprinted. Hours are Monday through Friday from 12-3:30

Pay: $17.00 per hour based on previous experience
