Join the Sycamore Orchestra Program!
Beginning in 4th grade, students can join the Sycamore Orchestra Program and learn to play violin, viola, cello, or bass. Beginning students receive a 30-minute small-group lesson once a week during the school day and participate in 45-minute large-group rehearsals every other week after school.

Students and families are invited to Sign-Up Night on Wednesday, September 2, from 3:30-6:30 PM at Sycamore Middle School. This open house will give students the opportunity to try all four instruments and rent an instrument. The monthly rental fee is the only cost for families. There is no school fee to join!

More information will be coming home soon. Questions? Contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Follow the program on Instagram at or Facebook at Sycamore CUSD 427 Orchestras. 🎻

Around the world (in under 2 hours)!!! The passport activity provided students with the opportunity to travel around the school to learn about and explore fascinating countries and diverse cultures. Students received passports and filled them with stickers and stamps. 🇯🇵 Thank you to our teachers who turned their classrooms into a different country and inspired our students to learn more about the world. And a special thanks to Mimi from the ! 🌎

Marlee Stark, a 1st grader at South Prairie, won the Spartan TV Jr. Fun Fair Prize to be a guest on our show! Marlee’s big wish was to interview her principal, Mr. Rucker, and she did an amazing job. After the interview, she was invited back to the studio to see what happens behind the scenes.

Marlee, you are a natural on camera! We can’t wait to see you back in the studio when you’re in 4th grade! 🌟
