Shueyville Community Playground Project at All God’s Children is a capital campaign to make the vision of a playground for ages 5 to 12 a reality in their community. Here are the Who, What, Where, When and Why of the campaign. Who will benefit from a playground at the Shueyville United Methodist Church? The City of Shueyville has a population of only 735 people but the surrounding rural area makes

it a gathering place for the entire northern Johnson County. The small businesses, church, restaurants and City Hall are a hub of activity. The new playground will be located at Shueyville United Methodist Church and serve the kids that attend All God’s Children preschool and childcare, the church youth, as well as the families in Shueyville and surrounding rural areas. Scout meetings are held at the church as well as many other church and non-church related meetings and celebrations that bring families together. The playground will serve as a center for fitness; a safe and appealing place for children to play will encourage them to engage in more physical activity. While the playground will be used by All God’s Children Preschool and Childcare from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, it will be for the entire community to enjoy at other times. What is our goal? Our goal is to raise $300,000 to install a playground designed for children of all abilities ages 5-12. It will include playground surfacing that will make the entire playground accessible for children (and adults) with mobility issues. The playground will offer a wide range of play activities from a playhouse for imaginative play, a large structure with lots of climbing opportunities and nets, slides, and multi user swings. There will also be a Neutrom Carousel spinner! All God’s Children and the Shueyville United Methodist Church see this playground as an investment in the community in which physical, social, emotional and cognitive learning will take place. The playground encourages fun, healthy, physical play for all youth in our community and the outlying areas that congregate there. It will be a gathering place for all who need a space to fit all ages. It will be located next to a basketball court and a parking lot. It will be a fresh spot to spend quality time outdoors. When? The goal is to have the funds raised for the project by December of 2023 so the new playground can be installed in the Spring of 2024.

Hand poured soy candles made in our neighboring town Solon! We love our local vendors 😍
And right now so many of us are thinking Pumpkin spice, fall harvest, & maple pecan vibes! They even have an option for Christmas!🎄
The owner of Soylon (Sew Many Wishes) is Lyndsee Detra! Say hello to her when you peruse all the wonderful scents she had to offer! I am a sucker for a good candle (ask my husband who thinks I have too many in my cupboard 😆) and who can have too many right?
Lyndsee even has Squeeze Wax for your warmers! She said the scents are much stronger with squeeze wax! And of course all her candles and wax last a really long time!

We are pretty excited to have this talented husband/wife team 👩‍❤️‍👨 bringing all the most beautiful wood framed, hand painted 🖌️ canvases!
Longboard & the Redhead is this awesome duo that I am so glad to have met!
John (aka Longbeard 😉) and Kellen (aka the Redhead 😉), work together to create beautiful custom frames from various woods that hold the most realistic acrylic art! Beyond canvases, they have acrylic crosses, coasters & trivets. There are also watercolor bookmarks 🔖 & cards, which are stunning!
On the holiday side you’ll find gorgeous yarn trees and they are also tempting me with their jeweled plant sticks!!

Karen McFarland Miller is a play advisor with Discovery Toys! These toys are educationally rounded for ages birth to 105!
Karen has been doing this for a while -
For 9 years she has been helping people pick out toys that are suited for their children’s ages, picking out the right ones for specific needs and loving 🥰 every minute of it!
Sh has a BS in Child Development from Iowa State ❤️💛 and she has a passion for pairing the right toy with the right person!
I am excited to see the variety of items she has and may take a break to play some myself! Come check out her booth and see if there’s a perfect gift for someone you know!

Duane puts a LOT of ♥️ into his wood projects! From very finished toy chests to live wood tabletops to rough & rustic shelving units!
He loves making toys for the kids, like his barns, tractors 🚜 & farm animals 🐷 🐮you’ll see ⬇️, piggy banks, & puzzles (they are incredible!)! His beautiful cross ✝️ pieces, his Iowa 🖤💛 boards & his tic tac toe games are all favorites!

As The Plot Twists Book Mobile that is!!
Robin Kuhn, owner of the cutest mobile book unit, has her trailer filled with the greatest selection of books!
When I met her, she told me the story 📖about her husband saying to her “You need to figure out what to do with all these books!”
And figure it out she did!
Robin decided that with all the books she had already read, she would share them with others at a discounted price. And she added new book titles, 👚 , 🧦 , puzzles pens…..a little book store on wheels 🛞!
And one of the best things about her business: Blind Date with a Book!!!
This gets you your book, fuzzy socks, choice of bowl or mug with the koozie wrap - plus the bookmarks, pen, highlighter and stickers! What a perfect gift for the book 🐛 in your life! These range from adult, young adult & upper elementary aged books! What an amazing idea💡and the perfect grab and go gift!

Bring your sweet tooth 🦷 to the Shueyville Church 2025 Fall Vendor Market this Saturday November 1st!!
HOMEMADE BY THERESA will be bringing all the treats for you to stock up on!
Bohemian Kolaches (she learned to make these from a friend who was 100% Czech!), peanut butter star 🍪’s, jams, breads 🍞 , trail mix, Christmas 🎄 cookies and a lot more!!
You can’t miss Theresa Greider & her husband as they bring in drawers full of their goodies!
The great thing about her booth is you can get something for you to snack on while you shop, some treats for later AND jams or jellies to drop in stockings!!
You’ll notice how cheery 😃Theresa is while helping you and you’ll see all of her baked items are made with a lot of love! 🩷
Theresa can talk with you about special orders as well for the holidays! They will be here before you know it!

I love watching Allison bake in her videos, as well as teaching her kiddos in the kitchen. Her simple techniques with natural ingrediants encourage me to want to do more of the same! Their farm 🐓 🐄 🐖
