🚨 School Safety: Lockdown Drill 🚨

At East Ridge Elementary, the safety of our students and staff is always a top priority! ❤️🤍

This Friday, October 16, we will practice a lockdown drill as part of our school safety and security procedures, as required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

To help our students prepare in a way that is age-appropriate and reassuring, Ms. Angie shared a video reading of Lock Down Drill at Superhero School with our classrooms. 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

This story helps students understand the importance of listening to their teachers, following directions, and staying calm during safety drills.

We are sharing the video here so families can watch it together at home if they choose. We encourage you to talk with your child about how practicing safety procedures helps us know what to do in an emergency, just like practicing fire drills.

Our goal is to help our little Mustangs feel safe, prepared, and confident—not scared. ❤️🐴

🎃👻 Halloween Fun at East Ridge! 👻🎃

Our little Mustangs are invited to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30! 🧡🖤

We can’t wait to see all the creativity and fun costumes our students come up with!

To help keep the day safe and enjoyable for everyone, please review the costume guidelines in the flyer below.

🚨 Important Reminders:

* Costumes must be school appropriate.
* No masks, toy weapons, scary costumes, or inflatable costumes.
* Students must be able to get in and out of their costumes independently for restroom breaks.
* Costumes should be comfortable enough for a full day of learning and fun!

Thank you for helping us make Halloween a safe, fun, and memorable day for our East Ridge Mustangs! 🐴❤️

A BIG thank you to the Sweetwater Fire Department for spending Friday with our East Ridge Mustangs! ❤️🤍

Our students had a wonderful time learning about fire safety and the important job firefighters do to keep our community safe. We appreciate the time, patience, and dedication these firefighters showed while teaching our little Mustangs such valuable lessons!

Thank you for making fire safety fun and memorable for our students! We are so grateful for our hometown heroes! 🚒👨‍🚒❤️
