Congratulations to #42 Jose Flores for winning the Mossberg Patriot rifle. Congratulations to #20 to William Davis for winning the Stevens Over/Under shotgun. Thank you all so much for supporting our program and participating in our gun board fundraiser. D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed was so pleased and humbled by the many people that participated. D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed and the D.A.R.E. Board of Directors would like to thank everyone for your support and participation, and we look forward to another year of D.A.R.E. in 2025.

Hey everyone, hope y'all are having a great Saturday. Well, tonight’s the night. D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed will be out at the Highland ISD carnival and selling chances on our annual gun board fundraiser. A winner will be drawn and announced tonight at the end of the carnival, or once the board fills up. Both boards still have multiple chances to win, and a winner will be drawn tonight. Thank you to all who have participated and who helped spread the word. To the patrons that are participating, GOOD LUCK.

Howdy y'all, D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed and Daren are out at the Roscoe Windfest and Mudbog. Y'all come on out and bring the family. Yes it's a little windy but it is a Windfest 😆. Come check out the activities, and the food vendors, and grab your chances at winning one of our fi****ms. The raffle is one week from today and there is still plenty of time and chances to win.

Hey ya’ll,

Are yall wanting to have some family fun and enjoy some live music and entertainment. Come out to the Roscoe Windfest and Plowboy Mud Boy on Saturday, October 19, 2024. There will also be local vendors, food trucks, and so much more. D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed will be out there with a table set up and conducting our gun board fund raiser. There is still plenty of time and chances to win a firearm. Just as a reminder, we are raffling off 1 – Mossberg Patriot Bolt Action 308 Win, 22” fluted barrel, walnut stock, with a 3-9 40mm scope; and 1 – Stevens 555 Over/Under 12 ga 28” Turkish Walnut Stock, blued finish.

Hey ya’ll, don’t forget the Little Lives ECI is having their fall kids bash tonight at the Nolan County Annex from 5PM to 7PM. There will be fun activities, games, raffles, and special guests. D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed will be there conducting a fundraiser and handing out candy. So, bring the family and come have some fun.

We would like to say thank you for what you do and the great work in supporting the community. The City of Sweetwater, Texas Government and the Sweetwater Police Department hosted National Night Out and allowed our program to set up a booth, and Brookshire's Grocery donated perishables items to give away at that event. KXOX Radio hosted D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed on their show and allowed him to spread the word about our D.A.R.E. program. The Garage Monkey Ju**ies Car Club hosted their annual car show and allowed D.A.R.E. Deputy Reed to set up a booth and conduct our annual fundraiser. Thank you all very much for what you do.

Hey y’all

We just wanted to give everyone an update. There are still plenty of chances and time to participate in our annual gun board fundraiser. Deputy Reed will be out at the following places and events:

October 15th - Little Lives ECI Fall Kids Bash at the Nolan County Coliseum Annex, 5P to 7P.
October 19th – Roscoe Wind Festival in downtown Roscoe square, Noon to 5P.
October 26th – Highland ISD Fall Carnival at the Highland School, 5:30P to 8P.

If you or anyone you know would like a chance to win a brand-new rifle or shotgun, contact Deputy Reed at the Nolan County Sheriff’s Office at 325-235-5471, or you can catch him at one of these events. Deputy Reed would like to express his gratitude and thanks to all that participate, and all who help spread the word. Deputy Reed also wanted to update the community and let everyone know that all the children in the D.A.R.E. program are having a great time learning about D.A.R.E. and learning about how law enforcement officers help keep our community safe. Nolan County D.A.R.E. proudly partners with the Roscoe, Highland, and Blackwell ISD school systems, and deliver D.A.R.E. to 5th and 7th grade students at these schools.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

A resident in our community recently received a convincing letter in a FedEx envelope and check claiming to be from Wal-Mart, asking them to evaluate a store and send money via money order. The check was for over $4,000, and everything looked legitimate—right down to the account and routing numbers. Thankfully, the resident spotted format changes, incorrect grammar, and a suspicious check number, realizing it was a scam and alerting us.

Scammers are getting more sophisticated, and these fake checks and letters are designed to trick you into thinking they’re real. Stay vigilant!

✅ What to watch for:
-Unexpected checks in the mail
-Requests to wire or send money back
-Letters with poor grammar or formatting issues
-If you receive something suspicious, don’t hesitate—call us or your bank to verify its authenticity.
