We are excited to welcome Mr. Adams with smiles and PTC shenanigans
The Sweet Home School District is excited to announce Ryan Adams as the new principal of Oak Heights Elementary School.
For Adams, the opportunity to serve Oak Heights is especially meaningful. He attended Oak Heights Elementary School from kindergarten through sixth grade, beginning his own education in the same school he will now serve as principal. Adams later attended Sweet Home Junior High School and Sweet Home High School.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in education, Adams returned to Sweet Home and has spent the past seven years teaching at Sweet Home High School while also taking on numerous leadership roles throughout the district.
Adams brings extensive experience working with students, staff and families. In addition to his classroom teaching, he has served as a student leadership teacher, facilitated Professional Learning Communities, supported student discipline and conflict resolution, analyzed student achievement data, and gained administrative experience at both the elementary and high school levels.
He recently earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and his Oregon Administrative License, adding to a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletics Administration earned in 2021.
Adams is also well known for his leadership of the Sweet Home High School football program. He will continue serving as the Huskies’ head football coach for the upcoming season while beginning his new role at Oak Heights. He has also made a positive impact with younger students through his experience coaching a Sweet Home youth basketball team.
Adams’ commitment to students, his strong relationships throughout the community and his lifelong connection to Sweet Home will serve him well as he takes on this new opportunity. His return to Oak Heights as principal brings his educational journey full circle, from beginning kindergarten at Oak Heights to now leading the school and serving its next generation of students.
Please join us in congratulating Adams and welcoming him back to Oak Heights Elementary School as its new principal.
