Preschool field trip on Tuesday was a success, despite windy conditions! To conclude our plant unit, we embarked on an excursion to Blue Earth, MN. Initially, we visited St. Luke's Care Center to perform for the residents, including my mother, Grandma Shirley. We then proceeded to the Green Giant Welcome Center and MUSEUM, where we gained insight into the symbolism of the Green Giant and explored exhibits. Following the museum visit, growling stomachs prompted us to stop at McDonald's. After lunch and indoor playtime, we returned to the Jolly Green Giant STATUE & park for outdoor activities and measure the Giant’s foot! I utilized chain links as a measuring tool, for which we will count and compare to our guesstimations. We ended our trip traveling to the Bob& Lori Calkin Dairy Farm. We got to feed baby calves, milk a cow, and feed the big Holsteins! We saw chickens and horses too! The kids were spoiled with a yogurt and cow shaped fidget before leaving! A big THANKS to: our Principal-Mrs. Runksmeier, Paras, chaperones, my sister, St.Lukes, McDonalds & the Blue Earth Area Chamber of Commerce for being so accommodating!

We have been listening to many stories on bugs!! Bugs! Bugs! BUGS! By Bob Barner and Eric Carle books: The Very Quiet Cricket! We also had a surprise snack from Miss Evie! (and I think her grandma Robin)! Crickets-almost everyone tried a sample!! Not too bad!

A nap is not just a break from the day—it is vital work time for your preschooler’s brain. When children sleep in the early afternoon, their brains move new information from short-term to long-term memory. Research shows naps can help your child remember up to 40 percent more each day, building stronger focus and better problem-solving skills.

Missing a midday nap can make it harder for your child to hold onto what they learned that morning. The most powerful naps last about 60 to 90 minutes and happen before late afternoon. Shorter or late naps might not give enough time for deep memory work and can even disrupt nighttime sleep. That’s why regular naps support not only your child’s mood, but also their growing mind.

If your preschooler stops napping too young, their thinking skills and vocabulary may fall behind. Daytime sleep is how their brains protect and grow what they experience in the world. To help your child thrive, protect their daily nap. It is when small lessons become lasting knowledge."
