Dear Swartz Creek Community,
It is with a mix of gratitude and bittersweet emotions that I share I have accepted the opportunity to serve as the next Principal of Linden High School. While this was not an easy decision, it allows me to work closer to home while continuing to pursue my passion for serving students, staff, and families.
As I reflect on my time at Swartz Creek Middle School, I am filled with gratitude. From the moment I joined this incredible district, I knew I had found a special community. It has been an honor to serve alongside such dedicated educators, supportive families, and outstanding students.
To our Board of Education and district leadership, thank you for your trust, guidance, and support. To the incredible staff at Swartz Creek Middle School, thank you for your professionalism, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to doing what is best for kids. I am proud of all we have accomplished together and grateful for the relationships we have built.
To our families, thank you for your partnership and for entrusting us with your children each day. Your support has helped make Swartz Creek Middle School a place where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
Most importantly, to our students, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Watching you learn, overcome challenges, discover your strengths, and celebrate your successes has been the greatest privilege of my career. You are the reason we do this work, and I will always carry the memories weโve made together.
Although I am excited for this next chapter, leaving Swartz Creek is not easy. This community has become much more than a place I worked. It has become a place filled with friendships, memories, and experiences that I will always treasure.
Thank you for welcoming me into the Dragon family. It has been a privilege to serve this community, and I will always be cheering on the continued success of Swartz Creek Middle School and Swartz Creek Community Schools.
With sincere gratitude,
R.J. Kaplan
