IMPORTANT UPDATE: OPEN HOUSE & FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Swanville Families & Community,

This is not an update we wanted to have to share, and we fully understand the frustration and disappointment that comes with another change to our school calendar.

After careful consideration, Open House will now be held Thursday, September 10 from 3:00–7:00 PM.

7th Grade Orientation will be held at 7:00 PM, or immediately following the completion of the Junior High football game.

The first day of school for ALL students will now be Monday, September 14.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision. Our community has made a significant investment in our school and in the future of our students, and we take the responsibility of protecting that investment very seriously. While we are eager to welcome our students and families back into the building, we are not willing to sacrifice the proper completion of this project simply to meet a date on the calendar.

Our administration and School Board are working diligently with the construction team to ensure the work is completed appropriately and that this is the final schedule change. We know families, staff, students, coaches, childcare providers, and many others are impacted when dates change, and we do not take that disruption lightly.

Kindergarten & Preschool families: There will be no Pre- K or Kindergarten Welcome Meetings on Tuesday, September 8. Your child’s teacher will reach out directly with updated information.

ITV students: Any students taking ITV classes from Upsala or Pierz will receive an email from Mrs. Johnson with additional information.

We know everyone is anxious to see our students back in the building—we are too. We are incredibly grateful for the patience, flexibility, and understanding our families, staff, and community have shown throughout this process.

This project represents a tremendous investment in Swanville Public School and in generations of students to come. We want to make sure we finish it the right way.

Thank you for continuing to give us grace as we get across the finish line. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back. 💙

Changes to LIVESTREAM for 2026-2027!

HUDL changes:
There is a yearly fee of $50 to watch all home events for the 2026-2027 school year. This includes all the home events for Swanville and Upsala.

OR

There is a $10 day pass to watch a home event for the 2026-2027 school year.

The football game for this Friday, September 4th can be found on the fan.hudl.com website and then search Upsala High School. Click on the game tab on the right column. You will then click on continue and go through the process of paying for the game. $50 year pass or the $10 daily pass. (The $10 option currently isn't available, but should be prior to the game). You will be prompted to select Swanville or Upsala for who receives the funds.
