It’s about that time!!!!
Students and parents- if your 7-12 grader is participating in choir, in any capacity, here is your first opportunity of the new school year to earn some cash for their choir account! Check out the sign up link below.

We are lucky to be able to operate a fair entry booth and earn funds. Each shift is two hours and requires 2 people, one needing to be an adult over the age of 18. If you have questions, feel free to message our page or contact one of our Booster Officers. Thank you in advance!

🥁 MEET THE NEW DIRECTOR OF BANDS :: MR. MASELL 🎶

"Hi, my name is Konnor Masell, and I am the new Director of Bands at Swanton Middle and High School. From playing baseball at Memorial Park as a kid to now becoming the Band Director, I have always felt a strong sense of community in Swanton. I am excited to get started with band camp in a couple of weeks and to begin this new chapter with our students and community!

ABOUT ME:
Pickleball is my favorite sport. I play with my wife recreationally and compete in tournaments across Ohio and Michigan. My wife, Emily, LOVES marching band and will be on the staff here in the fall as our visual instructor. We have a son named Charlie, who is 10 months old now.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE: 5 Years
GRADE LEVELS TAUGHT: 5th - 12th
FAVORITE FOOD: Chick-Fil-A or Chipotle

EDUCATION:
I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2019 with my bachelor’s degree in Music Education. I was a member of the Falcon Marching Band for three years and various concert bands and orchestras for all four years. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2021 with my Master’s in Music Performance. There I was a graduate assistant with the community engagement ensemble called SPARK. I also performed chamber music, solo, band, orchestra, and operas as a performance major."

We're excited to have Mr. Masell leading the Swanton Band this season! 💜 Be sure to say hello and help us give him a warm Bulldog welcome. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

🇦🇹🎶 Yesterday and today, we braved the HOT weather to explore the incredible city of Vienna.

We visited the resting places of some of history's greatest composers, wandered through the cultural heart of the city, enjoyed an amazing lunch, did a little shopping, and simply soaked in the beauty and history that surrounds every street.

As our two-week journey through Europe begins to wind down, it's hard to put into words just how unforgettable this experience has been. We've had the privilege of performing incredible concerts, sharing music with audiences across the continent, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Along the way, we've met so many wonderful people who have become friends, experienced cultures and traditions different from our own, and seen places we've only dreamed about visiting.

This trip has been so much more than a tour—it's been an adventure filled with music, friendship, laughter, and experiences that we'll carry with us forever. Feeling incredibly grateful for every moment and looking forward to making the most of the time we have left.

We return home tomorrow!

🇩🇪🎶 Over the past two days, we’ve had the opportunity to explore Neuschwanstein Castle, and Oberammergau, Germany - we’ve been having a blast!

We are currently in Salzburg for lunch, and will soon be on the way to Vienna!

So far, our highlights of Salzburg included some of the filming locations of The Sound of Music, as well as the home of W. A. Mozart!

We’re on our way to Germany today for a few days to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, Oberammergau, and Munich! But, we can’t stop thinking about our concert in Paris - here’s another peek!

🇨🇭🎶 The past two days, we’ve had the absolute best time getting to explore Andermatt and Lucerne, Switzerland. To say that this place is stunning would be an understatement. What a beautiful place to get to travel to and make music in!

Today, we had our concert in Paris. We were so lucky to have such a BEAUTIFUL venue to perform in! Getting to perform in beautiful places like this make these performances even more special. Fun fact: La Madelaine is the church where Chopin and Saint-Saëns were organist!

Greetings from Paris, France! Today, we have had the privilege of touring Notre Dame Cathedral, and getting to visit the Eiffel Tower! Tonight, we get to climb the hill up to Montmartre, and enjoy dinner and shopping!

Our Paris concert is tomorrow at La Madelaine Catholic Church!

This morning, our group had the pleasure to attend the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. We have had great weather in London for the first few days of our trip!

Our first choir concert our trip is tonight at Holy Sepulchre Church, London!
