Who says learning from afar isn’t engaging? Our PSY 150 class had to label the 9 sections of the brain, explain what each section does and the find the sections on a classmate! You can tell that they were having some fun!

💜 Proud of Our Progress. Focused on Our Future. 💜

At Hyde Academy, every number tells part of our story, but it does not define where we are going. Our 2025–26 Academic Snapshot shows areas we are proud of, areas where we have work to do, and most importantly, an opportunity to keep growing together.

We recognize that our overall achievement and school performance grade declined this year. We are not shying away from that data, we are using it to drive our next steps.

Our focus moving forward is clear: strengthen core instruction, provide targeted academic support, build upon and expand our CTE pathways, increase opportunities for industry credentials and work-based learning, and ensure students see the connection between what they learn today and where they want to go tomorrow.

Our goal isn't simply graduation. We want every Hyde Academy student to leave us enrolled, employed, or enlisted and truly prepared for what comes next.

We know growth takes time, teamwork, high expectations, and a willingness to continually improve. Our students are capable, our support teachers and instructors are committed, and we are ready to put in the work to raise achievement, raise our school performance grade, and increase career and college readiness.

💜 We celebrate how far we've come, own where we are, and remain focused on where we're going. The work continues, and so will our growth!

For our Final student highlight for the summer we have Zane! Zane recently attended a week long civil engineering camp at NC State and this is what he had to say about his experience!

“Attending the NC State week-long Engineering Camp was a valuable and enjoyable experience. Throughout the week, I participated in hands-on engineering activities, including designing and building a tower using three wooden dowels as the main frame and smaller dowels to connect. I also learned about construction management by taking on the roles of different contractors and seeing how they work together to successfully complete a project. One of the best parts of the camp was meeting new people who shared similar interests and getting a taste of college life. Overall, the experience strengthened my interest in engineering and gave me a better understanding of teamwork, problem-solving, and the engineering field.”

Zane also took part in a summer learning experience with NCDOT on the Alligator River Bridge, applying his knowledge from his work at the camp at NC State as well!

We are so proud of all our scholars and can’t wait to see them in a week! 💙
