Students and families gathered at Friday’s Fall Open House to celebrate CHS! Highlights ranged from police and fire department demonstrations to fortune telling, temporary tattoos, a cake walk, and a visit from Brody, the therapy dog. Many thanks to Big Ivy Beef Cattle Company for donating their farm-raised beef for our cookout!

We were also pleased to welcome district leadership, who joined us for the celebration and the ribbon cutting of our new Middle School Eagle Academy building—an exciting milestone for our school community!

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make the day a success!

BCS Science curriculum coach Kate Whittier and Ms. Bryant collaborated to bring the Mars landscape to Community High School today. Students explored the history of Mars missions, Mars topography and landscape, and beyond! 👨‍🚀👨‍🚀📡🔭

Today on National School Custodian Day, we salute our hard-working custodians Mr. Ray Bethea ("Captain Ray"), Ms. Yvonne Greene, and Ms. Dina Gyska. We appreciate all you do to keep our hallways bright, our floors shining, our buildings freshly clean and ready for teaching and learning. Even more important are the relationships you build with our students every day. You are a vital part of our Eagle family!

We've been busy helping Read to Succeed Asheville/Buncombe get ready for the big book giveaway event this weekend! Here's just a small sneak peek. We hope you'll stop by on Sunday, September 27 from 12pm-4pm at Nesbitt Discovery Academy to load your family up with tons of new books. 10 books per child with over 30,000 to choose from and free Lego brick boxes (while supplies last). Share with friends, families, and teachers! Educators and school staff can choose up to 50 free books for their classrooms!
