🌧️ A rainy weekend doesn’t have to be boring!

Umka has prepared a simple indoor scavenger hunt for our little explorers ages 2–4. Print the page, give your child a pencil, and start searching together! 🔎🐻

This playful activity supports vocabulary, attention, visual recognition, following directions, and understanding colors, shapes, sizes, and quantities. Most importantly, it gives children a reason to move, explore, and have fun—even when it is pouring outside!

Save it, print it, and let us know how many treasures your little Umka finds! 💙

🩺 Little Doctors at Umka! 🐾

This week, our little Umkas became doctors and veterinarians! They examined patients, answered clinic calls, prepared first-aid kits, prescribed treatments, and turned every toy car into an ambulance. 🚑

Our teddy bear was referred to a cardiologist because he had no pulse 😁, while a rubber dog was sent to an orthopedist with several suspected broken bones. Even the sandbox became a laboratory for making magical medicines!

Through pretend play, the children practiced communication, empathy, teamwork, problem-solving, counting, and fine motor skills, all while having lots of fun caring for their patients! ❤️

В этом месяце маленькие Умки знакомятся с разными профессиями. Мы обсуждаем, чем занимаются взрослые, какие инструменты они используют и как их работа помогает другим людям.

Через тематические игры, книги, творчество и ролевые задания дети расширяют словарный запас, знакомятся с окружающим миром и учатся ценить труд других.

А кем станут наши Умки? У них ещё много времени, чтобы помечтать! ✨

✨ **SEPTEMBER AT UMKA** ✨
**When I Grow Up… Professions & Community Helpers!**

This month, our little Umkas will explore the exciting world of professions and learn how different people help our community. 👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👩‍🏫👨‍🍳

🔹 **Pretend Play**
We will become doctors, chefs, teachers, veterinarians, builders, firefighters, and shopkeepers.

🔹 **Little Builders & Engineers**
Children will build houses, bridges, roads, and towers while developing creativity, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills.

🔹 **Umka’s Little Restaurant**
Our young chefs will create menus, prepare pretend meals, set the table, count ingredients, and serve their friends.

🔹 **Caring Hands**
While caring for dolls and toy animals, children will practice kindness, empathy, communication, and emotional awareness.

🔹 **Artists & Musicians**
Painting, crafting, singing, dancing, and exploring musical instruments will encourage creativity and self-expression.

🔹 **Language, Math & Science**
We will learn the names of professions and their tools in English and Russian, count and sort objects, match workers with workplaces, and explore how things work.

Through play, children develop language, imagination, confidence, cooperation, patience, and respect for the people who make our community special.

Friendship begins long before children can explain what it means. 💛

It begins with a tiny hand reaching for another.
With waiting for a friend to catch up.
With sharing a toy without being asked.
With laughing together over something only toddlers understand.

In our little Umka family, we watch these friendships grow a little stronger every day. They learn kindness, patience, empathy, and the joy of having someone by their side.

These first friendships may be small, but they often become some of childhood's sweetest memories. 🌿✨

Another beautiful week at Umka. 💛

This week was full of imagination, muddy adventures, laughter, and wonderful conversations.

Our little artists began building tiny clay houses for a magical fairy garden. Every fairy, according to the children, needs a very specific neighborhood—with buses, airplanes, and all kinds of magical surprises.

Our new backyard playhouse quickly became the busiest little café in town, serving endless bowls of imaginary soup, cakes, and "special recipes" made with love.

The garden continues to teach us patience. We proudly harvested more cucumbers, checked on our growing vegetables every day, and celebrated every tiny change. Watching children care for something they planted themselves is one of the sweetest parts of summer.

The rain gave us one of the most memorable days of the week. We traded our indoor plans for puddles, rain boots, and big smiles—and it turned out to be one of our favorite adventures yet.

Between stories, books, creative projects, gardening, outdoor play, and countless moments of curiosity, another week flew by.

Childhood is made of simple moments... and we feel so lucky to witness them every day. 🌿✨

The weather may have said "rain," but our little weather experts had a different opinion! 🌧️😄 They declared it was a perfect day to play outside... and they were absolutely right!

We bundled up, headed into the backyard, splashed through puddles, explored the rain, and had so much fun. Sometimes the best adventures happen on the rainiest days! 💛
