Friendship begins long before children can explain what it means. 💛

It begins with a tiny hand reaching for another.
With waiting for a friend to catch up.
With sharing a toy without being asked.
With laughing together over something only toddlers understand.

In our little Umka family, we watch these friendships grow a little stronger every day. They learn kindness, patience, empathy, and the joy of having someone by their side.

These first friendships may be small, but they often become some of childhood's sweetest memories. 🌿✨

Another beautiful week at Umka. 💛

This week was full of imagination, muddy adventures, laughter, and wonderful conversations.

Our little artists began building tiny clay houses for a magical fairy garden. Every fairy, according to the children, needs a very specific neighborhood—with buses, airplanes, and all kinds of magical surprises.

Our new backyard playhouse quickly became the busiest little café in town, serving endless bowls of imaginary soup, cakes, and "special recipes" made with love.

The garden continues to teach us patience. We proudly harvested more cucumbers, checked on our growing vegetables every day, and celebrated every tiny change. Watching children care for something they planted themselves is one of the sweetest parts of summer.

The rain gave us one of the most memorable days of the week. We traded our indoor plans for puddles, rain boots, and big smiles—and it turned out to be one of our favorite adventures yet.

Between stories, books, creative projects, gardening, outdoor play, and countless moments of curiosity, another week flew by.

Childhood is made of simple moments... and we feel so lucky to witness them every day. 🌿✨

The weather may have said "rain," but our little weather experts had a different opinion! 🌧️😄 They declared it was a perfect day to play outside... and they were absolutely right!

We bundled up, headed into the backyard, splashed through puddles, explored the rain, and had so much fun. Sometimes the best adventures happen on the rainiest days! 💛

☀️ July Theme: Summer Adventures

Summer is here, and we're ready for a month full of sunshine, laughter, and adventure!

This July, the children will explore the magic of summer through hands-on activities, outdoor discoveries, water play, gardening, nature walks, science experiments, art projects, music, movement, and imaginative play.

We'll observe butterflies and insects, care for our garden, learn about plants and flowers, build with natural materials, and enjoy plenty of sensory experiences that encourage curiosity and creativity.

As we celebrate **Independence Day**, we'll learn about the American flag, the colors red, white, and blue, and enjoy festive crafts and activities.

Every day will bring new opportunities to move, explore, create, and make wonderful summer memories with friends. Through play, children will strengthen their language, problem-solving, social, and motor skills while enjoying the simple joys of childhood.

Here's to a month of sunshine, muddy hands, happy hearts, and unforgettable summer adventures! 🌻🦋☀️

Some weeks are simply unforgettable. 💛

This week, our little scientists became butterfly keepers. We watched tiny caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies, greeted them with excitement, and finally set them free into the summer sky. It was a beautiful reminder that some of the most meaningful lessons happen quietly, through patience, wonder, and observation.

Summer at Umka means muddy hands, sandy "cakes," flower crowns, backyard adventures, and endless imagination. Our garden is slowly coming to life, and every morning begins with little feet rushing over to check if the cucumbers have grown overnight.

We spend our days reading stories, practicing letters, numbers, colors, and shapes, running obstacle courses, creating masterpieces in the sandbox, and occasionally waking up from nap time ready to throw an impromptu concert. (We're still not sure what everyone dreams about! 😄)

These are the moments that make childhood so magical—simple, joyful, messy, and full of wonder.

We hope your weekend is just as full of sunshine. ☀️🦋💚

Our little garden is one of the most loved parts of summer at Umka Academy 🌿🍅

Every day, the children check on our plants, notice what has grown, smell the herbs, look for tiny changes, and proudly help care for what we are growing together.

This season, our garden is filled with basil, tomatoes, cucumbers, raspberries, mint, zucchini, and other fragrant herbs — and for the children, it is so much more than just a garden bed.

It is a place for observation, patience, responsibility, sensory exploration, and wonder.

The children learn that food doesn’t simply appear in a store — it grows slowly, needs care, sunshine, water, and time. They get to watch nature up close, ask questions, compare leaves, smell mint and basil, search for new tomatoes, and celebrate every tiny sign of growth.

Gardening teaches children to slow down, notice details, care for living things, and feel connected to the natural world around them.

And most importantly, they truly love it. 💚

Our Favorite Classroom Is Outside 🌿

Some of the most meaningful learning doesn’t happen at a table or on a worksheet, it happens under the open sky.

A butterfly quietly resting on a leaf becomes a science moment.
A puddle after rain turns into a world of sensory discovery.
A simple stick can become anything a child’s imagination decides, a wand, a fishing rod, or part of a castle wall.

Outdoors, learning feels natural. It is slow, curious, and full of wonder.

Children don’t need perfect toys or perfect plans. They just need space to explore, time to notice, and the freedom to imagine.

And in those moments, they are learning more than we can sometimes put into words. 🌿
