Congratulations to our FBLA President Dei’Vion Davis🎉🎉🎉🎉
Swainsboro High School is celebrating senior Dei’Vion Davis for an outstanding performance in this year’s GHSA Literary competition season, earning top honors at both the regional and state levels in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking.
On March 4, Davis competed in the Region Literary Meet, where he earned first place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, distinguishing himself among a strong field of competitors. In this event, students analyze and respond to questions focused on current issues within the United States, crafting and delivering a well-organized speech after only a brief preparation period. Davis’s ability to think critically, structure his ideas, and present with confidence set him apart as a top competitor.
Following his regional win, Davis advanced to the State Literary Meet on March 21. Competing against the best speakers from across Georgia, he delivered another strong performance and earned an impressive fourth-place finish in the state.
Domestic extemporaneous speaking is considered one of the most rigorous events in literary competition, requiring students to stay informed on national issues while demonstrating poise, clarity, and adaptability under pressure. Davis’s success at both levels reflects his dedication, preparation, and skill as a speaker.
“Dei’Vion represented our school with professionalism, intelligence, and poise,” said his coaches, Michelle Scott and Annie Smith. “We are incredibly proud of his performance at both region and state.”
Davis’s achievements mark a strong finish to the inaugural literary season and mark the beginning of continued excellence in Swainsboro High School’s literary program.
