Visited Signature gallery in Buckhead to see Mark Knott's new exhibit. A Suwanee potter whom I profiled in the AJC a few years ago when he showed at the American Crafts Council Fair, Mark is fantastic with form and patterning. His work at Signature looks to be a high-water mark (the movement of oceans being one of his ongoing inspirations), including nuanced pieces of He-Man proportion. These cell phone shots don't do the scale justice. To try to convey that, I placed a penny on its side at the base of this first piece, which, at 31 inches tall, looks big enough to hold Barbara Eden. Mark's commanding work is up (alongside Adam Field's & Bryan Hopkins') through May 14.

'See the penny at bottom? This piece is the show's focal point, 31 inches tall with a 20-inch diameter,'
'Mark has always favored turquoise hues, but copper and black seem to be playing larger roles in his work, in very nice combinations.'
'These oval platters are huge, ranging in height from 24 inches to 27.'
Howard Pousner's photo.
'The figurative and the abstract all in one platter!'

Finally some new work to add!
I'm thinking about renting out part of my studio to a post grad or someone that is looking for studio space in the Atlanta area! It's an awesome space fully equipped large soda kiln, reduction or large bisque kiln and everything else a professional studio has. Needs to be the right person . Living space could be a possibility as well! Message me only serious focused people. I'm not looking to teach just sharing the space!
