Music Together Dandelion Kids

Music Together Dandelion Kids Music Together is an early childhood music/movement program for children from infants to 5 years. That's where you grownups come in! No deadline to register.

What to expect from a Music Together class:

-Classes are fun, silly, snuggly, and joyful. There is no pressure to perform and no expectations that kids sit through an entire session. Music Together is a research-based, early childhood music program, specifically designed for kids (and their grown-ups) ages 5 and under.
-Each class is 45 minutes long. We dance, sing, hum, beat rhythms, chant and

move all around with a mix of seated and standing activities and moving together. We use our bodies as the instruments for most of the songs, but we do have some fun with play-along instruments and props like drums, scarves, bells, balls, and egg shakers. Each class has 11-14 songs, a with mix of styles, tonalities, and rhythms.
-Recognizing that children learn through play, we make everything we do in class engaging and fun. We also know that young children learn best from the powerful role models in their lives. Our family music classes show parents, teachers, and caregivers how to help their children become confident music-makers just by having fun making music themselves. With your semester tuition, you receive an illustrated music book, CD, and online access to the downloadable song collection, plus nine, fun, silly, snuggly, musical play sessions! All children can learn to dance and sing just as naturally as they learn to walk and talk. With this in mind, we formulated four basic principles that guide everything we do. The Four Principles of Music Together

1. All children are born musical.

2. All children can achieve basic music competence—that is, they can learn to sing in tune and dance accurately to a beat.

3. It's crucial that parents and caregivers participate in class and model music-making for their children in class and at home, regardless of their own musical ability.

4. The environment that best fosters young children's musical growth is playful, musically rich, and developmentally appropriate.

At one point or another, we have all experienced the connection and bonding that can arise when making music or dancing with another person or in a group. Maybe it was singing in a choir or singing as a family in the car. Maybe it was dancing the “Electric Slide” at a wedding, chanting a sports anthem in a stadium, or making music in your Music Together class. Learn a little more about the “why” behind the magic of musical connection.
