Ok, I think I got the mix correct for this, but I admit I didn’t listen through my studio monitors. If there are major balance issues I’ll re-do it.
This piece took much longer to write, including soliciting and receiving amazing assistance from a harpist for the harp part, which I think is now playable.
It also was more serious in content, and I really tried to bring the gravity to the source material.
Loch Lomond is from the perspective of a dead soldier, who takes the “low road” home to Scotland. The Last March is the middle “breakdown” tune, continuing the marching motif, and The Minstrel Boy is the 3rd melody (not necessarily in that order), with further poignant source material.
